Lin Yue watched as giant trees collapsed en masse, but the creature ignored them, trampling over them and extending a pair of gigantic claw-like limbs to stuff the felled trees into a gigantic maw filled with disgusting, soft tentacles.
Lightning flashed endlessly, and as the monster headed straight for the Tokyo Tower, those eyes inset in a skull resembling a sheep’s did not give even a second’s notice to a human being standing aghast next to the gray-brown cement building beneath its colossal presence!
The booming continued ceaselessly.
The gigantic creature vanished into the forest beyond, while the metallic shrieks of Tokyo Tower’s steel girders twisting and collapsing stirred up a turbulent current that raged against everything.
Lin Yue, holding Bai, sprinted through the downpour toward the direction of the Ancient Gate with all his might.
He didn’t even know how he made it to the gate, but, at breakneck speed, he pushed open the Ancient Gate, bursting back into a Otherworld enshrouded in the red hues of twilight.
Soaked to the bone, he dashed toward the stone gate of the barricade, Bai following closely behind.
Neither of them uttered a single word.
Even after shedding his drenched clothes and returning to the safety of the Shelter, Lin Yue and Bai maintained their earlier state.
The impact of the colossal monster they had just encountered hadn’t dissipated from their hearts.
The light outside gradually dimmed, and Bai snuggled up to Lin Yue.
Lin Yue wiped the sweat beading on his forehead, taking a deep breath.
He patted Bai’s head, handing him a skewer of grilled lamb.
"Pujii, Pujii!" Bai didn’t eat it but instead circled around Lin Yue several times, occasionally hopping, seemingly trying to lift Lin Yue’s spirits.
