Harry Potter: Becoming a Study God Chapter 183

Wade suddenly realized a gap in the events.

In the original storyline, a similar incident had occurred, so he hadn't thought much of it at the time. But now, reflecting on it, he noticed something was off.

In the original plot, Dobby used a rogue Bludger to attack Harry, breaking his arm.

As for Harry's later fall, it happened because he had risked injury to grab the Golden Snitch.

However, during yesterday's match, Dumbledore had been present in the stands. Would a house-elf really dare to attack Harry under Dumbledore's watchful eye?

Even Quirrell, when possessed by Voldemort, hadn't dared to harm Harry directly while Dumbledore was nearby.

Hearing Wade's question, Harry paused, thought for a moment, and said, "I think it was Darian."

Darian, a member of the Slytherin team, was unfamiliar to Wade. After a moment's recollection, he asked, "The Chaser? I remember he's pretty tall. You said… 'I think'?"

"He was a little behind me on my right," Harry explained. "I saw his wand move, and then my head suddenly felt like it had been hit with a baseball bat. I lost consciousness for a few seconds and fell off my broom..."

He hesitated before adding, "But I'm not entirely sure if the spell came from Darian's wand."

Wade nodded slightly.

Some spells are highly visible, with bright, colorful beams of light, but most are not. If cast quietly and discreetly, only the caster would know they'd performed magic.

Of course, a Prior Incantato spell could confirm the last spell cast by a wand. But for most wizards, using this spell to inspect a wand is considered intrusive—much like Muggles being frisked by the police.

A "student scuffle" on the Quidditch field wouldn't usually warrant professors conducting detailed wand checks.

Since the match had ended with two Gryffindor players injured, the Slytherin team had been penalized by losing a significant number of House points, and the students involved were given detention.

Regardless, the Slytherin team was stronger than Gryffindor, both in skill and their willingness to use underhanded tactics. Their brooms were also the latest Nimbus 2001 models, and they had pulled ahead of Gryffindor early in the match.

But when Harry caught the Golden Snitch, Gryffindor instantly gained 150 points, turning Slytherin's victory into a mirage.

It made sense that members of the Slytherin team might harbor resentment toward Harry Potter and seek revenge.

Wade thought to himself: Am I just overthinking this?

But then... if revenge was their goal, why hadn't they acted earlier? Did they hesitate, letting their frustration build up until it boiled over?

Harry noticed Wade had fallen into deep thought again, seemingly filled with ideas. Not wanting to disturb him, he decided to go off and invite Michael and the others.

Harry was very excited about the Christmas holiday gathering and seemed eager to invite every friend he had. He wished time could speed up and skip straight to the holiday break. The source of thɪs content is novel✶fire.net

As the audience dispersed, Theo immediately spotted Wade sitting alone and walked over to ask:

"Wade, why are you sitting here all by yourself?"

"Oh... Theo, I was just about to look for you—"

Wade glanced at the field. The Ravenclaw players had already left, but Cedric was still standing there.

A group of girls surrounded him, and though Cedric smiled politely, he looked a bit helpless, and was slightly bowing his head as he chatted with them.

Wade took out a scroll from his bag.

"My timeline comparing magical history with Muggle history is finally complete. All the key points are highlighted. You can make copies if you need it... but could you please hand this copy to Cedric Diggory?"

Theo was first surprised and then genuinely happy for him. Taking the scroll, he opened it and was immediately struck by the detailed and well-organized notes, the clear tree diagrams and tables, and the neat formatting.

He knew Wade had been working on this for a long time. After finishing the "History of Magic" section, Wade, following Hermione's suggestion, had created a comparative timeline for Muggle history.

After the second edition was completed, Wade had also collected past OWL exam questions through some of his connections (primarily Marchionne) and integrated them with the timeline's knowledge points to make it easier to study and remember.

At Hogwarts, the History of Magic course used the same textbook from first to fifth year. Other historical books were considered reference materials, often used for essays.

In his scroll, Wade had even annotated citations from other sources and included their origins.

A single glance at the scroll was enough to see how much time and effort he had poured into it. The work was so meticulous that reading it felt like a pleasure.

Though the scroll was made from ordinary parchment, the knowledge it contained was an invaluable resource.

Theo thought that anyone mastering the contents of this scroll could easily achieve an "O" (Outstanding) in the History of Magic OWL exam and even find sixth- and seventh-year History of Magic studies less daunting.

"This… is way too valuable, isn't it?"

Seeing such a professional study aid for the first time, Theo felt reluctant on Wade's behalf. "Are you really just going to give it away?"

Wade said earnestly, "Back in our first year, we often relied on Cedric to help us buy things, which caused him a lot of trouble. So, I've been thinking about how to properly repay him."

"If I just bought him a simple gift, it wouldn't quite match the time and effort Cedric has put in for us. After finishing my History of Magic notes, I felt this would make a fitting way to give back."

"He'll be taking his OWLs next year, right? I know his grades are excellent, but these notes should still help him a little with his revision."

When Wade first began compiling the notes, he had considered collaborating with the Weasley twins to sell them for profit.

For students, high-quality study guides are timelessly useful. Given Professor Binns' unique teaching style, the pass rate for the History of Magic OWL exam was notoriously low at Hogwarts.

Fortunately, for most professions, a student's History of Magic grade wasn't a major consideration—except in rare cases.

Later, with Professor Murray's help, Wade had quickly achieved financial independence in the wizarding world.

Without money concerns, he abandoned the idea of selling the notes for profit. Instead, he decided to use them to help his friends, much like how Professor Murray had selflessly helped him.

After a brief silence, Theo smiled. "How could it only be a little help? It'll be a huge help. I'll make sure to give it to him once we're back in the common room."

Wade stood up and was ready to return to the castle. But suddenly, an owl flapped down beside him.

The brown owl dipped its head slightly, holding a rolled-up note in its beak.

Since the Book of Friends had gained popularity, people rarely used owls for simple letters anymore.

Wade unrolled the note, revealing a line of fine, elegant handwriting:

If it's convenient for you, please come to my office tonight at 8 o'clock, after dinner. I hope this won't interfere with your time with friends.

P.S.: Lately, I've grown fond of cream biscuits, though Madam Pomfrey insists they aren't good for my teeth.
