Harry Potter: Becoming a Study God Chapter 317

Wade slept soundly until dawn. When he woke up in the morning and looked around, for a moment, he thought he had crossed over again.

However, the wand and pencil case beside him quickly reassured him that such a thought was absurd—he was still Wade Grey.

Yet, no matter how hard he tried, Wade couldn't recall how he had fallen asleep last night or why he had carelessly placed his important pencil case right next to his pillow.

Holding his head, he tried to recall what had happened. Slowly, his hazy memories started resurfacing, and he sluggishly remembered what Dumbledore had said—

"Was it honey mead from the Three Broomsticks…? Make sure to pour me a glass."

He groaned and covered his face.

Wasn't he only pouring a drink for Dumbledore?

He had assumed that what he was given was just a honey-flavored beverage!

At the time, he had been engaged in conversation and hadn't thought much of it. After all, in his understanding, adults generally wouldn't pour a full glass of alcohol for a minor.

Slowly, he began to remember everything he had done afterward… Or perhaps, he was just confusing his memories with dreams…

Hoping for the best, Wade opened the space inside his wardrobe and stepped in. As soon as he did, a few of his magical puppet pets ran up to him and affectionately followed at his feet.

But… the bearded man was gone.

Looking at the now-empty prison cell, Wade felt a splitting headache.

That bearded man held no loyalty to their group—only resentment from having his life destroyed.

Wade had kept him around because he thought he might still be useful. He had even considered being partially honest with the headmaster Dumbledore to gain his help… But he had never expected to be exposed !

Wade closed the space and let out a deep sigh before collapsing onto his bed, unwilling to leave his room.

One night was more than enough time for Dumbledore to extract every secret from that bearded man's mind.

For example… how Wade's Acromantula had viciously bitten down on the thick-browed man's head.

At this moment, Wade imagined that in Dumbledore's mind, he was probably now on the same level as Voldemort—if not even more ruthless.

After all, when Voldemort was thirteen, he was still an academically outstanding student who, at most, bullied classmates and formed cliques.

The deaths he caused—like indirectly leading to Moaning Myrtle's demise or personally killing his uncle—only happened in his fifth or sixth year.

Wade let out a deep sigh and frowned as he absentmindedly fiddled with his pencil case, his thoughts were in turmoil.

As he sat on his bed, he wondered: if Dumbledore began seeing him as a future dark lord, their current harmonious and cooperative relationship would soon fall apart… But at the very least, the headmaster would probably choose to observe him for now.

Dumbledore always seemed to have enough patience to wait—to observe changes in the future before taking action.

—He placed the pencil case beside my pillow instead of dissecting its secrets and thoroughly investigating me.

Based on this, Wade believed that Dumbledore wouldn't turn hostile immediately… but he still felt uneasy.

When he first arrived at Hogwarts, Wade didn't believe that Dumbledore was as selfless, kind, and gentle as he was portrayed in the original story. Instead, he viewed the headmaster's actions with a conspiratorial mindset.

But as their relationship gradually became more harmonious… the thought that an irreconcilable rift might form between them in the future made Wade uncomfortable.

With a bang, his bedroom door suddenly swung open.

"You're awake, Wade!"

Harry said excitedly, "Come on down—the school book list has arrived."

After saying that, he quickly turned and left. Wade could hear the sound of Harry thundering down the stairs.

Wade: So Harry came over from the Dursleys' first thing in the morning…

Even though the Dursleys didn't dare imprison Harry or kick him out—thanks to Sirius and Lupin living nearby—they certainly wouldn't have been willing to prepare him a hearty breakfast.

As Wade came downstairs, he heard Harry sitting at the dining table, talking to Lupin.

"Aunt Marge's train leaves at ten this morning. She's staying for a week… I asked Dumbledore, and he said that since I've already lived at the Dursleys' for over a month, the magic has taken effect. So I can stay here for the rest of the summer."

Near the living room entrance, an old suitcase sat on the floor—it was clearly Harry's luggage.

"Who's this Aunt Marge?" Sirius asked as he spread butter on his bread. "What did she do to you?"

"She's Uncle Vernon's sister. She keeps a lot of dogs… Just look at Uncle Vernon and Dudley, and you can imagine what kind of person she is."

Harry shuddered at the memory. "Let's just say… I'd rather regrow the bones in my arm than spend even a second with her."

Sirius nodded. "Got it."

"Sirius, how's your investigation going?" Wade asked as he walked into the dining room.

Sirius shook his head. "No real progress… They said that a vampire named Troka moved away years ago. No one else has been looking for him recently either."

Dark circles were visible under his eyes—he looked like he hadn't slept all night.

"Sirius, how could you possibly investigate better than the Ministry's Aurors?"

Harry tried to persuade him. "I think you really need to rest for a while. I don't know about anyone else, but knowing Lockhart, he won't be able to resist signing his name on a wall before long."

"Yeah, Sirius," Lupin added. "If you don't give yourself a break soon, I think you might just drop dead from exhaustion."

Sirius curled his lips into a slight smile but said, "On the way back, I was thinking—even if Lockhart or that Gale gets exposed, we'll probably still have a hard time catching Peter."

"Huh? Why?" Harry asked.

"Just because the three of them escaped together doesn't mean they're bound to stick together forever," Sirius explained. "Knowing how cautious Peter is, there's no way he'd stay with someone like Lockhart for long."

Lupin gave a slight nod, not disagreeing—clearly, he shared the same view.

Wade asked curiously, "If you already know that, then why are you still tracking those two?"

"Because after they split up, Peter is very likely lurking nearby, keeping an eye on them—watching how the Ministry handles the manhunt for all three of them," Lupin said thoughtfully.

"In his mind, those two are just bait he left out in the open."

"So, finding them means finding Peter," Sirius concluded before viciously biting into a piece of roasted meat. "We just have to be more discreet and cautious."

As Wade sliced into his fried egg, a thought crossed his mind—

Maybe I should just bring Peter Pettigrew 'back to life'…

And then let him die again—right in front of Sirius.

Otherwise, Sirius might never be able to let this go.

Even Harry and Lupin… Even if they rarely showed it, there was no way they would ever tolerate Peter remaining "at large" forever.
