A sense of danger gripped Arrie as her figure flickered, bolting away from her previous location.
A long tongue whistling towards where she previously stood ,lashed on the ground ,causing a massive crater to appear , a testament of the condition she would have been in had she not reacted quickly to Micheal’s warning and her battle instincts.
A large black colored frog with a slimy body landed after the attack, it’s round large eyes almost popping out of its sockets.
The creature was at the peak of the B rank, just like Arrie.
Without standing on ceremony , Micheal bolted away from the scene in the battlesuit he had received from the Hayes family before the battle commenced.
Micheal didn’t want to be a burden to Arrie.
He was only at the D rank. He was aware that trying to get involved would only make Arrie worry about him getting hurt. This would not help her to focus fully on the battle.
He headed towards a location where a couple of D ranked diabolic beasts had gathered ,venting his frustration for being weak on them.
Arrie’s white battlesuit was a sharp contrast to the dark scaled , slimy figure of the beast.
The metallic needles hovered around her.
They expanded into two large swords gleaming under the moonlight, hovering on the air in front of Arrie.
Arrie spread her hands sideways.
Metallic objects in the nearest vicinity shot towards her, hovering around her alongside the two swords.
The creature’s tongue shot towards Arrie with extreme speed.
Arrie dodged the attack by leveraging on the aerial advantage her battlesuit granted, her figure now hovering on the air.
The metallic objects shot towards the creature at Arrie’s command, their direction, the creature’s body.
However ,what happened next caused Arrie to curse.
Instead of the metallic objects naturally making contact with the creature’s body or crushing into the creature’s body, something entirely strange happened.
The metallic objects disappeared the moment they came into contact with the frog’s body.
And then the creature burped, as though it were satisfied after swallowing something.
" It’s body absorbs the metallic objects and digests them like food?"
The massive frog confirmed Arrie’s words , it’s slimy body cracking and becoming more robust.
It’s muscles hypertrophied under her gaze.
" The hell?" Arrie was completely shocked.
Before she even had the chance to process what was happening, the creature’s tongue lashed towards her again .
This time with speed wasn’t prepared to react to.
The tongue rammed into her like a cannonball, sending her hurtling through the air ,crashing into a skyscraper in the process. Glass shards covering the exterior of the skyscraper sintered into multiple directions.
Arrie finally managed to stabilise herself after her figure appeared at the other end of the skyscraper.
Mundane civilians that were being rescued by some awakened in the skyscraper got caught in the crossfire, losing their lives in the process.
" The hell?" Her usual bubbly expression was nowhere to be seen.
She could only be that carefree when she was confident in handling her opponent.
Heck, this beast was freaking strong.
Despite donning such a high tech battlesuit created by the research department of Zanpala university , her innards still shook slightly .
Arrie even coughed a mouthful of blood in the process.
" I need to go on the offensive . However with its defenses, I suspect it will be very difficult. Heck,it’s tongue is so tough it did damage to me. Also, I saw what it did to those metallic objects I sent it’s way. There’s no doubt that if it comes into contact with these beauties of my, they’ll become it’s food"
Her metallic swords still hovered in front of her .
That’s when an idea crossed her mind.
" Perhaps that could work"
Arrie bolted again towards the creature.
She evaded the creature’s tongue that whizzed past her, redirecting itself backwards and targeting her again. Arrie evaded the attacks over and over again. Looking for the window of opportunity to initiate her plan.
She utilised the insidious dance movement technique nimbly to evade the creature’s terrifying tongue over and over again.
Finally she had a window of opportunity.
The two metallic swords whizzed past her nimbly floating figure with swift speed as the creature’s tongue bolted towards her figure.
The metallic swords moved with profound speed, their target, the eyes of the Monstrous frog.
With it’s tongue focused on attacking Arrie, it had no way to prevent the swords from landing on its eye.
The swords pierced the creature’s large eyes with lethal ferocity , causing it to go berserk, it’s tongue lashing around with more serious lethality as it hopped around violently with its vision impaired.
Each landing of the creature on the ground caused the ground to quake.
However Arrie, hovering far above the creature did not stand on ceremony .
The swords moved deeply into the creature’s body under Arrie’a control ,molding and turning into many tiny needles, destroying the creature’s innards .
The massive frog twitched, it’s maddened movements coming to a slow halt finally.
It croaked weakly for the last time, twitched, fell down and died, blue blood oozing out of it’s now hollow eye sockets
" Bastard ruined my battlesuit" Arrie clicked her tongue, heaving a sigh of deep relief.
" I wonder how Kailen is doing"
Angela stood atop a towering skyscraper as her finger made clicking sounds.
S ranked diabolic beasts were popping into smithereens here and there each time she clicked her fingers.
However she was not having a good time.
Blood was draining from the corners of her nose,her face pale. It was obvious that whatever she was doing was sucking the life out of her.
Quickly, she popped open the lid of her last remaining S ranked recovery potion, downing it’s contents.
Her face regained its former color finally.
" Let’s get back to work"
A massive skyscraper was about falling on a group of individuals running away from a massive Diabolic beast.
Angela motioned with one hand for the skyscraper to halt its fall.
As for the A ranked diabolic beast chasing the individuals ,it’s neck snapped in an unusual angle.
The creature wailed, falling down ,life being drained from its eyes.
The individuals who were almost pummelled suddenly floated.
They were carried under Angela’s control and placed at a certain location where healers were tending to the wounds of people.
