When Daisy Ginger woke up, the day was already fully bright.
The glass window was open, and outside, the shady grove rustled in the winter wind.
She slowly sat up in bed, the soft silk bedding slid down, and she felt a chill on her skin, only belatedly realizing that the night before, Edward Stephens hadn’t even bothered to put a nightgown on her.
They’d been together for half a year; he knew her as well as she knew herself.

His tone was indifferent, "Just wanted you to have a good sleep."
Daisy was trembling with rage, her dark eyes blazing like fire, capable of igniting one’s heart in an instant.
Edward watched her, approached her, and pinched her chin, slowly lowering his head to look at her, "We’ve been together so long, and you’re only now getting shy?"
Daisy slapped his hand away, shouting angrily at him, "Liar!"
"I’m a liar, and what are you?" Edward’s voice grew colder, "A robber?" As if her turmoil wasn’t enough, he added fuel to the fire, chuckling, "Do you remember what you did to force me to marry? If you’d given me a little slack back then, we would’ve never ended up married. You snatched me for yourself, and now you think you can just let go? Daisy, don’t be so heartless. We’ve had a good time this past year."
Stimulated by his words, Daisy’s face turned paler, while Edward’s eyes turned chilly. He seized her chin and fiercely bit her lip.
He had never been so rough with her before; Daisy’s pale lips were even stained with blood.
