Amidst the desolation, the team of the Zombie Eradication Tactical Unit (ZETU) advanced cautiously, their boots crunching on shattered concrete and debris.
"Ethan, what's the radiation readout?" Marcus asked, his voice steady despite the oppressive atmosphere.
Ethan's voice crackled through the comms. "It's bad, Captain. The Geiger counter's going crazy. Stay out of that mist—it's laced with toxic residue. Prolonged exposure isn't an option."
"Great," Jenna muttered, her flamethrower at the ready. "Because zombies weren't bad enough—now we've got poison fog."
"Eyes up," Lila warned, her pistols trained on the shadows ahead. "I've got movement, two o'clock."
Through the haze, figures began to emerge. These weren't ordinary zombies. Their decomposing bodies were fused with industrial waste, glowing faintly with radioactive sludge. Their eyes shone a sickly green, and their gnarled hands dripped with toxic ooze that hissed as it hit the ground.
"Corrosive zombies," Riley muttered, taking aim. "Why am I not surprised?"

The first wave lunged forward, their movements erratic but fast. Riley fired, her bullets tearing through the mist and hitting the closest targets. Green sludge erupted from their wounds, splattering onto the ground and corroding the concrete.
