Dr. Sylvia "Plague Mistress" Voss stepped forward, a wicked grin curling her lips. "The last human holdouts in this region are hiding beneath the ruins of the old city. We've crushed their defenses, but they have something… interesting."
Kruger's cold eyes narrowed. "Explain."
Voss tapped her datapad, bringing up grainy surveillance footage. The screen flickered to reveal a hulking human soldier, standing amidst the battered survivors. His face was lined with scars, his eyes burning with defiance. Unlike the others, he did not flee. He stood his ground.
Kruger studied the image, a dark chuckle escaping his lips. "He thinks he can fight back?"
"Not just him," Voss added. "He's rallying them. They call him Commander Aldric—one of the last surviving war heroes. If we leave him unchecked, he could be a problem."
Kruger cracked his neck, gripping his combat knife with deadly intent. "Then we erase him."
With a swift motion, he turned to his squad. "Prepare the assault. I want the city drowned in fire before the sun rises."
Hellhound loaded his shotgun, his lips curling into a wicked grin. "Finally. A real challenge."
Black Widow smirked, spinning one of her poisoned daggers. "This should be fun."
