The cold, metallic air of the underground bunker was thick with the scent of decay and oil. General Viktor "Bloodfang" Kruger moved through the dimly lit corridors, his boots echoing against the steel-plated floor. His knife was already slick with undead filth, and his sidearm remained drawn—ready for whatever lurked ahead.
The last battle had been a massacre, but Colonel Wolfe's forces were not entirely gone. Some of his undead remained buried beneath the ruins, twitching in the darkness, waiting to strike.
Kruger exhaled sharply, his grip tightening on the hilt of his blade. He was never one to retreat, never one to hesitate. He was going deeper, into the heart of the enemy's research facility, where Wolfe had conducted his experiments.
The walls were riddled with bullet holes and deep claw marks. The remnants of failed creations and desperate last stands.
"Sir, we've lost contact with Bravo Team." Sergeant Darius "Hellhound" Rook's voice was edged with concern. "They went in ahead of you, but… nothing. No response."
Kruger smirked, his expression unreadable in the shadows.
"They're either dead or worse. Either way, we keep moving."
Rook hesitated before replying. "Understood, sir."
Kruger stepped forward, the lights flickering as the bunker groaned like a dying beast. Then, a new sound—a deep, guttural growl.
His knife was up in an instant. His instincts never failed him.
A shape lunged from the shadows.
It was one of Wolfe's elite undead soldiers—enhanced, armored, and mindlessly aggressive. Its body twitched violently as if struggling against its own resurrection. But Kruger didn't flinch.
He dodged left, twisting his knife into a reverse grip. The creature swiped at him, razor-sharp claws slashing inches from his face. Kruger ducked, driving his blade into the beast's ribs, twisting hard.
The thing howled, but Kruger was already moving. He tore the knife free, dodging another strike, then fired his pistol into the monster's skull.
A sickening crunch. The undead fell.
He exhaled slowly. Too easy.
Then the walls trembled.
From the far end of the hallway, the real nightmare emerged.
A massive figure—half flesh, half machine—stalked toward him. Wolfe's final creation.
Its glowing red eyes locked onto Kruger.
"You shouldn't have come here," a distorted voice rasped.
Kruger grinned, rolling his shoulders.
"And you shouldn't have pissed me off."
He cracked his knuckles.
It was time to finish this.
