HOTD! Busujima’s Step Brother Chapter 98

In an office at the military's headquarters, Albert Wesker was checking documents and reports that were delivered by his men. He put them aside after finishing them all and turning into ones he got from the boy named Daiki.

He read it and confirmed its content, and then he leaned on the chair, thinking.

The virus was the real deal, and the document had the same information that he knew about. However, he still didn't know if Daiki really knew anything or not.

Did he really read the document? If he did, that would mean trouble.

"Someone like him must not have any information about viruses."

Eliminating threats was a basic knowledge that everyone in the field knew. Especially someone in the high ranking position like him. He had seen people die and he had killed a lot of people.

Even so, there was still a part of him that didn't want to kill the boy. Daiki seemed to know a lot of things, and it was a fact that he was pretty smart for his age.

What kind of a highschool boy went to the US to seek shelter with his friends and teacher?

While he seemed to know Minami Rika, it wasn't like he needed to go to the US to meet her. They could just stay in Japan.

Daiki seemed to be a smart boy. He could see the logic behind the boy's actions. The kid was a survivor.

However, there was another side of him that made him like a complete enigma.

Something was strange. Wesker just couldn't put a finger on it.

The boy's gaze was sharp and he looked like someone who had seen a lot. There were no traces of a boy who had never seen death on his face. In fact, Daiki looked more like a hardened soldier than anyone else.

Even his eyes reminded him of himself.

"That kid... What kind of training did he have?" Wesker wondered, remembering his first encounter with Daiki in the encampment.

A boy so calm and composed in the middle of the chaotic world.

No normal person would be that calm, even if they were a trained soldier. No, even they would be nervous in this kind of situation.

It was just impossible for anyone to be that calm.

But that wasn't the strangest thing about him, however. It was how he was seemingly good at everything.

Fighting zombies. Fighting a mutant plant. Even negotiating with him, Wesker. The boy handled it all like a professional.

The report he received about him also said that he had saved a soldier and his team from the mutated plants, stopping its growth. And he also traveled from Japan to the US with only his group of five.

He even had the guts to negotiate with him, and to request him for permission to go out.

What a strange, strange boy.

"If he knows about the virus... I should just get rid of him." Wesker mumbled, closing his eyes.

But that's not possible either. Killing him right now would be strange. He was just a boy who sought shelter, nothing more and nothing less. He would look suspicious and he would definitely get into trouble if anyone learned about it.

Especially Rika, who had a close connection to him.

Maybe the best choice for him was to send him on a mission with the members of Stars and get rid of him like that. That would solve the problem.

But that would also mean losing a talented asset.

"Let's see where your fate will lead you, Daiki."

After a while of walking, I spotted a small town in the middle of the highway. The road was littered with cars and corpses, while a lot of buildings were destroyed or ruined beyond repair.

However, it seemed that there were still survivors in the area, judging from the fact that the convenience store was ransacked clean. No food, no drinks, nothing.

The store was completely empty and even the magazines and newspapers were taken away by the survivors. Some corpses of zombies littered the ground, indicating that a battle had happened.

The most notable corpse was one that had its head smashed into the wall, creating a dent and blood splatter on the concrete.

'Interesting. Was it done by a human?'

I had to be careful and not let my guard down, especially because I was alone.

While it allowed me to buy anything from the shop and use them without getting caught, I wouldn't be able to protect myself if a large number of zombies were attacking me.

I was still a mortal human with a normal strength.

Anyway, my goal was Raccoon City. And walking there was not an option, I realized it now. So my new goal was to find transportation in the small city. It should be easier than searching from near the evacuation zone.

The working vehicles must've been taken by the military to evacuate people from the city. And now, the rest of the cars should be around here. I could try to search for one that still could function.

But my preference would be bikes. It could be used to maneuver the road better than a car. I could also see around without having anything blocking my view, like a car window or door.

A few minutes of searching and I finally found a motorbike with its key in its compartment. The bike was laying in the alley near the convenience store.

Based on its condition, with large scratches and dirt on the surface, I guessed that it was used in the chaos to escape and then abandoned after it crashed into the alley wall. The rider must have been bitten or dead by now.

The engine was still functioning after I put the keys and started it, creating a loud noise and rumble from the bike.

A Harley fucking Davidson!

I couldn't be any unlucky getting such a loud bike. But then, it was also a great bike that could be used in any terrain.

'Perfect, let's see what I have here.'
