Hunter x Hunter: War of the Anime Worlds Chapter 235

Killua and Gon managed to escape, even under Nobunaga's watch.

The chaos at the auction finally wrapped up with the death of the Ten Dons—and the Phantom Troupe's staged deaths using Nen.

Thanks to a direct "order" from Xiang Nan, Chrollo and the others didn't pursue the Chain Bastard—Kurapika. For now, both sides kept their distance.

Still, Kurapika found out the truth about the Troupe's fake deaths from Killua and Gon. And finally—he figured out who "Xiang Nan" really was.

After killing Uvogin, Xiang Nan took the body with him. Once Kurapika had time to cool down, something about it didn't sit right. So he started digging into the Zoldyck family's involvement. After the Ten Dons were killed, his suspicions only deepened.

Xiang Nan and the Troupe were probably working together—not as teammates, but with Xiang Nan pulling the strings from behind the curtain. He wasn't a Spider, but he was very likely orchestrating the whole thing.

When Kurapika explained this theory to Killua and Gon, Gon found it a bit strange… but Killua? He thought it made perfect sense. He never saw Xiang Nan as a "good guy" anyway.

It was probably a good thing Gon was seeing Xiang Nan's true face now.

As for the Scarlet Eyes Kurapika picked up at the auction? Total fakes. But he didn't hold a grudge—because Xiang Nan did hand over one critical clue:

His clan's real Scarlet Eyes might be in the Kakin Empire.

To verify Xiang Nan's role in the Yorknew mess, Kurapika called Hisoka. Hisoka didn't answer outright—but he didn't deny it either. Which basically confirmed Kurapika's theory.

So yeah… after everything that went down in Yorknew, the main crew not only saw how terrifying the Phantom Troupe really was, they also peeled back a layer of Xiang Nan's mystery.

And some relationships… shifted because of it.

Because Uvogin, Pakunoda, and others hadn't died in this timeline, and because there wasn't a second clash with Kurapika, the Troupe's Yorknew job was basically done.

They made a killing—literally and financially. Now it was time to move behind the scenes.

Help integrate Meteor City into the criminal underworld.

Infiltrate and take over mafia families.

Quietly help the Zoldyck family clean the house in their turf.

And from here on out, they didn't need to move as a group anymore. Everyone could split up and operate independently.

But before they went their separate ways, Chrollo wanted to do one last thing:

He used a newly acquired Nen ability to perform a divination on the Troupe's future.

Because working with someone like Xiang Nan—a guy who's powerful and dangerous with serious backing—meant they'd given up a chunk of their freedom. Their future was now a giant question mark.

Chrollo shared Xiang Nan's biggest secret with the group: a thing called Multiverse.

And whether they liked it or not, they were already wrapped up in it. Chrollo had seen the kind of items that came from the Multiverse firsthand—especially the Altana liquid, a magical substance with insane power and value.

Compared to Altana, all the money and treasure they'd chased before was basically pocket change.

If they could get their hands on that stuff, the Troupe's growth would skyrocket.

But Xiang Nan had warned him: the Multiverse is insanely dangerous. Big rewards come with huge risks—and way too many unknowns.

That's why Chrollo decided to divine their fate.

In an abandoned warehouse, Nobunaga was still muttering about how ridiculously talented Gon and Killua were.

Uvogin had been cured by Xiang Nan and was finally back to normal. The source of this content ɪs 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭•𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮•𝘯𝘦𝘵

All things considered, the Troupe was pretty satisfied. They'd taken out the Ten Dons and the Shadow Beasts, made serious cash, got secret info from Xiang Nan about the Multiverse, and helped Meteor City gain a foothold in the underworld.

The only loose end? Kurapika. A threat they couldn't touch—yet.

"If our alliance with the underworld keeps growing, maybe we can end up controlling all the world's mafia," Phinks suggested.

"Yeah, no," Shalnark shot that down. "Even at our best, Meteor City's only gonna control a piece of the pie."

Phinks raised an eyebrow. "Why not?"

"Because this world runs on strength and connections," Shalnark explained. "There are plenty of countries out there that could wipe Meteor City off the map. Every mafia territory is linked to global powers—big and small. Even the Ten Dons were tied to the V5. Our reach is limited, and if we push too far, we'll pay the price."

"You don't seriously think Xiang Nan is the only mastermind in the underworld, do you?"

"Even with his brains and connections, Xiang Nan wouldn't dare take over openly. At most, he'd install puppet leaders—like a new batch of Ten Dons—and run things from the shadows. Because once he shows his face, the players involved won't just be criminals anymore—it'll be the whole global power structure. And from what I've seen? Xiang Nan doesn't even care about the underworld. He just wants to plant someone in a mafia seat to monitor things. His real goals are way bigger."

"Tch," Phinks scoffed.

"Still," Shalnark added, "thanks to Xiang Nan, Meteor City made it this far. Even if we don't run the whole show, having real power is more than enough."

Right then, Chrollo activated Angelic Auto Writing and started divining the Troupe's fate.

The room went dead quiet.

After a moment, the ability finished.

Everyone got a personal prophecy—including Chrollo.

"A pitch-black night will blanket the land. Time and space will fade. And when dawn comes, it won't bring light… but a blood moon soaked in shadow,"

Chrollo read aloud, voice cold and calm.

"Years, months, days—everything will fall apart. The calendar you represent will lose all meaning. The god of chaos will tear away each page. If you want time to survive, to see the light of morning… then your only hope is to follow that blood-red moon above your head. Only its glow can lead you back to the order of time and space…"

The room stayed silent—everyone looked tense.

"…What does that even mean?" Feitan finally asked, frowning. The whole thing went over his head.

"The blood moon… probably refers to Xiang Nan," Shalnark guessed, rubbing his chin. "And the calendar… that's us, right?"

"Kinda weird, though. We've got thirteen people, but calendars usually only have twelve months…"

"Still, based on the wording, this 'Multiverse' thing sounds terrifying. A never-ending night? An apocalyptic battlefield with no sunlight?"

Shalnark casually translated the cryptic prophecy in his own way.

"Anyway, let's take a look at your individual readings," Chrollo said calmly.

Everyone checked their own slip of paper.

Some started sharing what theirs said with each other.

Chrollo and Shalnark went around helping interpret them.

Then Chrollo turned toward the one person who hadn't said a word or shared anything—Hisoka.

"Hisoka… what does yours say?"

"Of course," Hisoka replied with a strange smile.

He stood up, walked over to Chrollo, and casually handed over his slip—no hesitation, no secrets.
