I am a Primitive Man Chapter 747

Chapter 750: The Shaman with the Twitching Eyelid

The fallen Half-Farming tribe’s female shaman had already prepared herself for the possibility that no one would care for her, or that she would be killed outright by these evil demons.

She had been ready for this ever since her tribe was broken and these wicked demons captured her.

Recognized as the wise woman of the Half-Farming tribe, and the one who, in autumn, forced the captured members of the Sheep Tribe into submission by having their leader killed, she knew well that her fate wouldn’t be a good one.

Especially now, with the tribe’s leader dead and herself the eldest in the tribe, her chances of survival were slim.

Judging by the demons’ current behavior, she could already guess what they intended to do.

To tame her tribe, the best way was probably to kill her.

As the leader of this large tribe, the young demon leading them was certainly no fool—this the female shaman was sure of. This text is hosted at novel⸺fire.net

If she could think of such a plan, then the wiser demon leader certainly had.

While the Half-Farming tribe’s female shaman was lost in such chaotic thoughts, the advancing group stopped. Someone stepped on the snow, helped her up from the ground, untied her ropes, and then helped her onto a sled.

After that, the group resumed their journey.

Sitting on that strange sled, the female shaman watched the moving group—the demon leader playing occasionally with a wolf in the snow, and others who chose to walk through the snow on foot despite the hardship—and she was filled with confusion and strange feelings.

These demons, when not killing or burning, were quite considerate—sometimes even more attentive than her own tribe’s people.

How could such people have become so cruel before?

The female shaman pondered this, then recalled her impending fate.

These demons were not killing her now; they were likely waiting until they reached their tribe before taking action, just as she had previously arranged for the death of the Sheep Tribe’s leader.

But perhaps this was for the best. At least she could get a proper look at this mysterious tribe.

She wanted to confirm whether the tall, long, ochre-colored cliff the dead leader had described was truly a wall, and whether the large open area was indeed farmland.

If possible, she even hoped to understand how those exquisitely crafted pottery items—so fine they made people forget to sleep—and the delicious salt were made…

Since Han Cheng and the Eldest senior brother had led the allied Green Sparrow Tribe forces to attack the evil Half-Farming tribe, the entire Green Sparrow Tribe had suddenly become much quieter.

Many people no longer liked to joke; many would often look toward the east side of the tribe.

The Divine Child and others had gone to attack that evil and powerful tribe, and with them went the thoughts and worries of the people.

In the weaving room, Bai Xue once again paused her work. She reached out to rub the little green pea-head wrapped tightly like a small ball and carried the little one outside.

The little one struggled, wanting to get down and walk on the snow alone.

Bai Xue set him down, holding his hand as they walked slowly forward, glancing toward the door.

Although she knew that if Brother Cheng and the others returned, those guarding the walls would surely bring news, Bai Xue couldn’t help but repeatedly imagine the moment Brother Cheng suddenly appeared at the door.

The shaman, dressed in a domineering tiger-skin outfit, also stepped out of the house and looked eastward from the tribe’s gate.

Ever since he sneezed several times and blew snot bubbles, his right eyelid had been twitching constantly for days.

Remembering the Divine Child’s casual saying that a twitching left eyelid meant good luck was coming. Still, a twitching right eyelid might forewarn some misfortune, the shaman’s heart began to race.

He prayed at the totem pole to the sky god, who never paid attention to him, but it was useless.

His right eyelid not only didn’t stop twitching, but it grew more intense and frequent over time.

This only made the shaman feel more uncertain, and he repeatedly worried that something bad might have happened to Divine Child and the others on the road.

“Returned! They’re back!”

Standing tall means seeing far.

While the shaman pressed his twitching eyelid to stop it and felt his heart all tangled up, someone on the wall suddenly shouted with excitement.

At the shout, the shaman immediately loosened his fingers, stretched his neck, leaned against the doorframe, tiptoed, blinking to look eastward.

Bai Xue, holding little Green Pea, slowly walked toward the gate, then suddenly picked him up despite his struggles, and dashed toward the gate, squishing the child’s face out of shape.

Sure enough, parents are true love; children are just…

With the shouts from the person atop the walls, the once dull Green Sparrow Tribe suddenly erupted with excitement.

When the Green Sparrow flag fluttered in the wind and the people below the flag came into view, those who had been waiting so hard finally could not hold back and cheered, rushing to greet the returning people.

Because of the tribe’s joyous mood at everyone’s return, the shaman felt a bit relieved at first, but soon became anxious again.

After the Green Sparrow flag appeared in sight, his right eyelid twitched even faster.

Could it be that something terrible happened during this expedition?

With such thoughts, the shaman didn’t dare to go forward…

“Divine Child, did anyone die this time?”

Seeing Han Cheng, he scanned him from head to toe, making sure no parts were missing. Only then did the nervous shaman exhale a long breath of relief.

But just after letting the breath out, he suddenly remembered something and anxiously asked Han Cheng again.

“One person died—someone from the Sheep Tribe. Unfortunately, he died during the attack…”

Hearing it was only one casualty, and that the person was from a tribe newly joined to theirs, the shaman exhaled again, feeling much lighter.

Still, why does my eyelid keep twitching?

Feeling that probably nothing worse would happen, the shaman rubbed his eyes and then fixed his gaze on the Half-Farming tribe’s female shaman sitting on the sled.

“Divine Child, who is this…?”
