The two parties turned to the voice. Without realizing it, a new rider had approached the two parties. He rode a horse with dark red fur and he wore an all black uniform.
The uniform was intricate with invisible seamlines that couldn’t be spotted. The leather was high quality and created a thick padded layer on top.
He wore a straw hat on top. His face was covered by a black scarf, leaving only his two dark eyes visible.
Dunn directed the torch toward him, letting the light shine on the mysterious rider. His dark eyes showed up bright red like a fire.
The eyes of the owl reflected the light naturally, making Siderius’ eyes seem like dancing flames in the night.
On the waist of Siderius were two scabbards. The Blazing Soul was slid inside the black scabbard while the orange scabbard was sealed tight by a lid.
"That uniform... Why is it so familiar?" Henry squinted his eyes.
"Isn’t that Siderius?" Roland thought back and the memory hit him. Siderius was covering his face but his unique attire couldn’t be mistaken.
"Hello, boys. Long time no see. I see you are in quite a pickle this time."
"Siderius!" The pair of bandits blurted out.
Siderius pulled down his scarf, revealing his face. He smiled and nodded toward the pair. Then his expression sterned and he turned toward Dunn.
"Dunn Longar. We have shown you mercy the last time. I thought you would have learned your lesson and left us alone."
"You are also one of those rats! I might not be able to kill these nobles. But don’t think that you are the same.
As Dunn shouted, a rider raised his bow and released an arrow at Siderius’ direction. Siderius raised his own bow at the same time but drew the string a few seconds later.
His arrow detached the bowstring after but its speed was much superior compared to the rider’s arrow. His arrow blasted on the rider’s arrow in mid-air and split it in two. The arrow then continued to pierce into the throat of the rider, killing him instantly.
The no name rider grabbed his throat and stumbled. "How..."
Blood gushed out like a fountain. He dropped down to the floor motionless. ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ 𝔫𝔬𝔳𝔢𝔩⁂𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢⁂𝔫𝔢𝔱
All the riders took a step back. Their eyes widened and their jaw opened.
It wasn’t the death of their comrade that shocked them. It was the impossibility of the arrow trick. Siderius fired second, hit first and his arrow was able to exactly hit a flying arrow. They had never heard of anyone capable of doing such things.
The riders observed Siderius closely. His red bow with white lines stood out in the dark like a piece of relic.
Siderius took his straw hat down, revealing his white snow hair.
One rider took a big gasp. "White hair. Black clothes. Red horse. That is the White Witch!"
Chattering erupted amongst the riders. Mostly was fear and disbelief. But there was also a hesitation. They did not want to stand face to face with a witch.
"White Witch?" Dunn’s face was filled with questions.
A rider nodded. "Aye. The White Witch that helped the Baron of Scalize to kill a phantom and neutralize a witch spy."
Another spoke up. "Some says that he is more powerful than both the Baron and his Lady combined."
Dunn’s breath hitched. He instinctively stepped back, surrounding himself with the riders of sellswords.
Siderius jumped down from Red and he slowly approached the two parties. He stood beside Henry and Roland.
"So... You really have a cave of gold?"
Roland shook his head. "Nope. I was just buying some time for us to escape."
Siderius laughed out loud. "As I expected."
"You liar!" Dunn shouted. "I shouldn’t have trusted you!"
"So you’re a witch, huh? You didn’t tell us that last time." Henry said to Siderius. His behavior had shifted significantly.
Previously, Henry always had his guard up but he was very friendly toward Siderius. Now, the hunter could feel a certain coldness from Henry toward him.
"Because it isn’t the truth. I will explain to you shortly." Siderius unsheathed his sword. "Right now, we need to deal with them."
"The White Witch isn’t a witch? How can this be?"
Dunn grinned from ear to ear. "You’re telling me you aren’t a witch? Are you stupid or something? Now you will definitely die."
Siderius smirked. "I am not a witch. I am something much more dangerous. I am a witch hunter."
Siderius let out a high-pitched whistle. Lycan the wolverine came out of nowhere and bit at the hand of one of the riders that was holding a torch. The rider screamed in pain as he dropped the torch to the ground.
Siderius entered the crowd of enemies like a wolf intruding into a sheep den. He targeted riders that held a torch first.
The Blazing Soul smacked on the arm of the rider, causing him to drop another torch to the ground. The Dull Steel sword wasn’t sharp enough to cut through the rider’s arm but it hit like a hammer, shattering the bones inside.
Siderius kicked the sand on top of the torch, covering it and completely extinguishing the light.
Henry let out a long laugh. He too drew out his sword and jumped into the crowd of riders.
Roland retreated behind the boulder with only his head popped up to witness the battle. "These two are nut heads..."
Dunn turned his back and ran as fast as he could to get out of the fighting zone.
Siderius quickly engulfed the crowd in darkness. From then on, the rhythm of this battle was completely in his hands.
He weaved through the riders and reached his hand out to Dunn.
"Where are you going, rat?" Siderius said, referring to him using the same thing he used.
"Wait! Wait! Don’t kill me! I have coins..."
Siderius slammed the sword onto the back of Dunn’s neck. It wasn’t able to decapitate him but it broke his neck. Dunn’s lifeless head leaned to the side. His mouth opened wide with uncontrollable saliva dripping nonstop.
Siderius dropped the body to the ground. To make sure he was dead, Siderius slammed the tip of sword onto Dunn’s ribcage, at the center of his heart. The body constricted and the crisp breaking noise of the bones was heard.
The vengeful hunter then turned back to see Henry dancing in the middle of the crowd. His curved sword surrounded him in graceful movements, acting as both a barrier and a weapon.
Unfortunately, Henry suffered the same weakness as the riders, he couldn’t see in the dark, and it limited his true potential.
Siderius jumped into the crowd of riders again, his sword swinging as an unstoppable force.
A rider tried to deflect his strike but Blazing Soul broke the blade in two and continued smacking on his rib.
"How..." The rider looked at his blade in disbelief as his ribcage was broken into pieces.
Siderius shouted. "No survivor. No witness."
