On the other side of the island in Uzushiogakure, Uchiha Obito stood silently atop a large tree.
"Obito, Kakuzu and Hidan are being blocked by Kaito’s two companions!" Zetsu’s upper body emerged from the tree trunk. "What do we do? Are you going to cancel the operation?"
"Those two again?" Obito was somewhat surprised.
"Didn’t you say that man claimed to be Uchiha Izuna? Maybe Kaito summoned him using a technique similar to Edo Tensei," Zetsu fully emerged from the tree trunk, standing beside Obito.
"No, they were lying!" Obito said gravely. "I later sensed that the person didn’t have the aura of the dead."
"Alright, so what now?"
Obito countered, "What’s the situation with Kaito?"
"He’s still confronting that creature, but Kaito seems to have the upper hand," Zetsu hadn’t shared information about the Bliss Box with Obito, so neither did the other Zetsu.
"Let’s wait. If Kaito and that creature’s battle reaches a stalemate, we’ll intervene," Obito decided.
"Got it, Lord Madara." Zetsu saluted mockingly and melded back into the tree.

Meanwhile, Kaito was continuously compressing the Shinigami’s space with dense Ryūmyaku chains. The thick purple mist from the Bliss Box also relentlessly targeted the Shinigami, giving it no respite.
The Shinigami had morphed into a long, thin white shape, constantly slipping through the gaps in the chains to evade the pervasive blockade.
Has it started over there too?
Kaito sensed the situation on the other side through his connection with Izuna and Chiri.
Is that... the aura of Jashin!
Sensing the anomaly from Hidan, he felt a sense of relief.
The Shinigami in front of him was troublesome enough; if Jashin were also summoned, he would have had to abandon the operation.
However, the distance between both sides wasn’t far, so he needed to finish this quickly.
With this thought, Kaito shouted, his Ryūmyaku power growing more intense, increasing the number of Ryūmyaku chains in the formation.
With this sudden exertion, the Shinigami could no longer evade.
As a golden chain touched it, the Shinigami was forced to return to its original size, and more chains swarmed in, binding it completely.
"Ka ka ka..."
The Shinigami’s eerie laughter echoed as it opened its mouth, spewing several dark flames at Kaito.
"Ryūmyaku Protection!"
Kaito swiftly formed seals, and a golden shield successfully blocked the ghostly flames, producing a layer of frost upon impact.
Feeling the bone-chilling cold of the ghostly flames, Kaito quickly manipulated the Ryūmyaku chains to bind the Shinigami’s mouth.
Without the Shinigami’s control, the ghostly flames gradually extinguished, turning the entire area into a frozen wasteland.
"It seems you can’t escape," Kaito leapt onto the top of the Bliss Box. "I’ll send you back where you came from!"
He commanded the mist-infused chains to drag the Shinigami into the Bliss Box.
"I won’t be sealed so easily!" the Shinigami’s voice became piercingly sharp.
A black rift opened in the air behind it, and countless demon hands with black nails and purple skin emerged, grabbing its body.
Kaito felt another force countering his chains.
For a moment, it seemed like a stalemate, a tug-of-war of equal strength.
"Ka ka ka... Onmyoji, you can’t defeat me! I know you have a time limit with the Ryūmyaku connection! Ka ka ka..." The Shinigami’s sharp voice rang in Kaito’s ears, as the demon hands behind it increased their strength.
"Damn it!"
Kaito formed seals with his hands, fully mobilizing the Ryūmyaku chains. Sweat beads formed on his forehead as time passed.
Meanwhile, Obito and Zetsu had arrived at the perimeter of the formation.
"Go!" Obito’s figure vanished.
"Mokuton: Birth of the Trees!"
As Zetsu formed seals with his hands, giant trees sprouted crazily from the ground, uprooting the golden torii gates. Separated from the Ryūmyaku’s power, they reverted to decayed wood, and Kaito’s formation was completely destroyed.
Simultaneously, a ripple appeared in the space behind Kaito, and an arm holding a long sword emerged, stabbing the sword into his heart.
"Urgh..."
Kaito’s eyes widened in shock, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Who..." He slowly turned his head to see a familiar mask.
"Obito... it’s you..." Kaito spoke, blood flowing from his mouth.
"Hahaha..." Obito laughed heartily
Obito stepped out of the space, his single eye gleaming with ruthless intent.
"Kaito, blame yourself for standing in the way of my ideals! Blame yourself for knowing too much!"
"Your... ideals? They’re just... self-deception..." Kaito’s voice weakened.
"Shut up!" Obito pushed the sword deeper, all the way to the hilt. "This false world is worthless! The world I long for, the one with Rin, is the real one!"
The two were now very close, Obito’s body pressing against Kaito’s back.
"And to think I’m wasting my breath on someone with a broken mind."
Kaito’s voice suddenly regained strength, the golden mist around him surging. Several golden chains emerged from his body, binding Obito from head to toe.
"What!" Obito tried to use his Mangekyou Sharingan to become intangible again, but found he couldn’t draw any chakra.
Meanwhile, Kaito’s body slowly melted, turning into a pool of golden liquid that slipped off the sword.
The golden liquid reformed into a human shape, and the unharmed Kaito appeared before Obito.
He looked at Obito with a mocking smile. "You used your Mangekyou Sharingan’s power just now. You must be in your real body, and without chakra to use Izanagi. You’re finished."
Then, he turned to the Shinigami still struggling with the Ryūmyaku chains and said, "The Shinigami must be unaware that I have a deep connection with the Ryūmyaku, so there’s no time limit on my use of its power."
"Nice to meet you, ancient remnant." He turned to Zetsu standing on the other side. "Though you’re good at escaping and hiding, I doubt you’ll abandon poor Obito and run away alone, will you?"
