He Jingyao saw him, his expression growing even more displeased.
“You’re celebrating your anniversary, why rent the whole place? Got too much time on your hands?” he said begrudgingly.
Huo Yanzhao glanced at him sideways: “We don’t like crowds!”
After saying this, he turned his gaze towards Su Zixi, his smile warm and friendly: “Isn’t this Xuefei’s junior from school? In honor of the junior, I’ll let you join us.”
The last sentence was directed towards He Jingyao.
Su Zixi’s eyes lit up: “Is Xuefei inside?”
“Yeah. She just found out yesterday that you were whisked away by this heartless Jingyao, and even said she wanted to see you to warn you to be careful,” Huo Yanzhao spoke while giving He Jingyao a malevolent look.
He Jingyao gave a cold laugh, wrapping his arms around Su Zixi’s waist: “Let’s go somewhere else.”
“Don’t!” Su Zixi quickly grabbed his wrist, gazing at him pleadingly, “I want to see Xuefei.”
“There will be plenty of opportunities later,” He Jingyao suppressed his discontent and said with a smile, “Today I just wanted to have a simple lunch with you.”
Su Zixi momentarily lost for words, looked at Huo Yanzhao who seemed at ease, then at the sincere-faced He Jingyao, unable to decide.
“Come on Jingyao, don’t be so petty,” Huo Yanzhao said hopelessly, rubbing his forehead, “Let’s go, I just happen to have some business to discuss with you. We’ll open another private room, allowing your sister-in-law and Xuefei some private time to talk.”
“Aren’t you celebrating your anniversary?” He Jingyao gave him a cold look.
Huo Yanzhao’s face broke into a grin: “Sorry, Xuefei and I are close. We don’t care about these formalities. Every day for us is like a honeymoon anyway.”
He Jingyao felt irritated seeing him so smug.
But seeing Su Zixi’s eager eyes, he finally relented, and bent down to kiss her on the forehead: “Come find me soon.”
Su Zixi quickly nodded her head.
Two minutes later, Su Zixi arrived at an antique-style private room.
Upon opening the door, she instantly saw Yun Xuefei sitting by the window. She was wearing a uniquely tailored long dress, her demeanor cool yet her features were more beautiful and charming than before.
Su Zixi found herself a bit nervous.
It was akin to… a little fan meeting their idol.
Yun Xuefei came from a distinguished family and excelled in both looks and academics. She had already started her own brand while at school, later furthering her studies abroad and taking her brand onto the international stage, receiving acclaim and eager followers from within the industry.
As a little fan, Su Zixi had never stopped following Yun Xuefei.

Hearing the noise, Yun Xuefei turned her head, saw Su Zixi, and immediately stood up with a smile.
“Yanzhao just called me. I was just saying yesterday I wanted to meet you, and here you are by coincidence!” Yun Xuefei, not at all estranged, took her hand and looked her over, nodding, “Ah, you’re truly more beautiful as a married woman!”
Su Zixi blushed, “Xuefei, you’re truly much more beautiful yourself!”
“Let’s not flatter each other,” Yun Xuefei laughed, “Come, let’s eat. Yanzhao and I have just ordered, and we haven’t started yet.”
Yun Xuefei served her a bowl of soup, and Su Zixi accepted it as if cherished, making her burst out laughing.
“You, now having He Jingyao on your side, why do you still act like a bashful bride,” Yun Xuefei glanced at her, “From now on, carry yourself with more confidence!”
