Su Zixi suddenly felt a sense of relief in her heart; speaking those words had genuinely required immense courage from her. Yet, seeing the look in his eyes, she understood that everything she had done was right.

But now, she finally stopped doubting herself.
At this thought, she smiled and walked step by step toward He Jingyao. However, meeting his smiling eyes, she suddenly felt a bit embarrassed and said shyly, “Um, I’ve dealt with my things, let’s go back.”
“Alright,” he chuckled softly in response, suddenly bending over to scoop her up in his arms, bridal style.
Su Zixi let out a short cry of surprise and quickly clung to his neck.

Su Zixi looked into his sparkling eyes and felt a wave of tenderness in her heart.
She quietly “mm-ed” in agreement, then smiling, she buried her face in his chest.
After they were seated in the car, He Jingyao’s gaze fell upon the slight V-neck of her blouse.
“That’s a very nice piece of clothing,” he leaned in, appraising her openly, his voice husky.
Su Zixi quickly placed her arms in front of her chest, somewhat flustered, “Auntie picked this out for me…”
“She has good taste,” He Jingyao said, then his gaze lifted to meet hers, “So you dressed up so nicely, but Ning Yichen was the first to see it?”
Su Zixi quickly shook her head, and with a soft voice said under the man’s penetrating gaze, “Auntie and the bodyguards were actually the first ones to see it…”
He Jingyao captured her wrist, his voice deepening, “What did Ning Yichen do to you?”
“Nothing, nothing,” Su Zixi couldn’t admit it, and after all, Ning Yichen indeed hadn’t had the chance to do anything. “He just misunderstood and thought I liked him, so he said some unpleasant things, that’s all.”
“Oh, so you don’t like him,” He Jingyao’s eyes softened, “then who do you like?”
Su Zixi’s face colored, pretending to turn to look out the window, but He Jingyao gently turned her face back, “Why aren’t you speaking?”
“You… you know already…” Su Zixi’s gaze darted away, she had clearly said as much, and he must have heard her loud and clear.
“I don’t know,” He Jingyao curved his lips into a smile, leisurely asking, “Tell me quickly, or I’ll throw you out of the car!”
Come on, as if you would do that…
She silently complained in her heart, but seeing his expression full of interest and anticipation, she couldn’t help but speak up, her voice very soft, “You…”
“Hmm? Make it clear,” the man drew her closer and wrapped an arm around her waist, his voice growing raspier.
“The person I like is you!” Su Zixi blurted out and then immediately felt her cheeks flush with heat. She quickly closed her eyes, pretending to be exhausted, “Ah, I’m really tired after all this fuss, I’ll rest for a bit…”
However, her ruse only lasted a second. Soon, Su Zixi felt the world spinning around her and had to open her eyes, only to discover she was straddling him, her skirt hiked up around her waist in a compromising way – the scene was as intimate as it could get!
Her face turned even redder, and she said indignantly, “What are you doing!”
He Jingyao chuckled low, tightened his grip on her waist, and with a little force, made her crash against his chest!
“Zhixi, I’m very happy.”
The next second, he kissed her lips deeply.
