Chapter 377: Chapter 377: I’m Here to See You
In the hospital room, Su Lianxi and Lin Shuyue sat on either side of Su Guo’an’s bed. Lin Shuyue kept lowering her head to wipe away tears, while Su Lianxi had a pale face, yet her expression was filled with stubbornness and unwillingness.
“Mom, stop crying!” she said impatiently to Lin Shuyue. “Crying won’t solve anything, right? Didn’t the doctor say that the hospital is looking for a matching donor for Dad?”
“You…” Lin Shuyue sobbed and hiccupped, “Donor matches aren’t so easy to find. What if something happens to your dad? What will I do then?”
Su Lianxi gritted her teeth, “Don’t you still have me?”
“You… Your dad is so sick and Yichen refuses to even come see him…” Lin Shuyue said this, sorrow welling up inside her, and she started sobbing again.
Su Lianxi’s face turned red and then pale in her shame and annoyance. With a fierce turn of her head, she saw Su Zixi standing at the doorway of the hospital room.
Her face instantly took on a remarkable display! Shock, embarrassment, anger… all paraded across her face.
Finally, she stood up abruptly. “Why are you here?”
When she had called Su Zixi, she actually hadn’t held out any hope, so she had just said one sentence and hung up. Su Zixi hadn’t called her back, so Su Lianxi had given up hope.
“Didn’t you call to tell me Dad was sick?” Su Zixi walked over and glanced at the Su Guo’an lying on the bed, feeling a complex bitterness rise within her.
In just over a month of not seeing him, Su Guo’an had become much thinner and older.
Seeing her rosy cheeks through her paleness, jealousy and bitterness uncontrollably sprouted in Su Lianxi, compelling her to blurt out, “He’s not your dad!”
Su Zixi glanced at her and said nothing.
Lin Shuyue anxiously signaled to Su Lianxi with her eyes, then turned to Su Zixi with a placating look, “Lianxi is being unreasonable, Zhixi, don’t listen to her nonsense! I knew you wouldn’t stand idly by! Your dad needs a donor now and you’re his biological daughter… you must find a way to save your dad!”
Su Zixi coolly stated, “Since I’m here, I’ll find a way to save him. I’m going to see the doctor now.”
With that, Su Zixi turned and walked towards the door of the hospital room.
What she didn’t expect was to run straight into a handsome figure.
The other person was moving too quickly, and Su Zixi, unable to stop in time, slammed right into his chest.
She uttered a low cry and covered her forehead, and before she could look up, he had already steadied her, his voice not concealing his surprise, “Zhixi!”
Su Zixi sighed within her heart.
“Yichen, it’s you.” She smiled, “He’s right inside, you can go in.”
Yichen gazed at her almost greedily, his voice hoarse, “I didn’t come to see him, I came to see you.”
Before Su Zixi could say anything, Su Lianxi suddenly stood up, “Yichen!”
Tears of humiliation sprung to her eyes, her body trembling slightly! She was Yichen’s wife in name, and he hadn’t come to see her father even once, but the moment this woman, Su Zixi, appeared, he had rushed over immediately!
But Yichen didn’t even glance at her, instead, he continued speaking to Su Zixi, “I got the message as soon as you landed. Did you come alone? Is your accommodation for the night arranged? I…”
“I didn’t come alone!” Su Zixi interrupted him, “Sorry, I need to see the doctor now.”
Yichen grabbed her wrist, “I’ll go with you!”
