“Nothing,” He Jingyao walked towards the dining room and paused to add, “Block his number.”

At that moment, Su Zixi came down from the second floor and joyfully threw herself into He Jingyao’s arms.
“Jingyao, are you busy this afternoon?” She looked at him with hopeful eyes.
The man wrapped his arms around her and raised an eyebrow, “What’s up?”
“If you’re free, I’d like to treat you to a meal and a movie!” Su Zixi was a bit excited, “I received my scholarship for last semester!”
He Jingyao looked amused, “You’re treating me?”
“Yes!” Su Zixi nodded cheerfully.
Although she had a salary while working at HI, that project was more about He Jingyao creating opportunities for her, making her somewhat guilty about spending the money.
But she hadn’t graduated yet, and without a job, she had no income of her own; she couldn’t very well use He Jingyao’s credit card to treat him, could she?

“How much is the scholarship?” He Jingyao showed a bit of interest.

He Jingyao chuckled softly, “Alright, let’s go on a date.”

“You’re treating,” he pinched her cheek.
“I’m treating!” Su Zixi hugged him excitedly and planted a firm kiss on his lips before trotting back to her room to get ready.
Such enthusiasm… even He Jingyao was momentarily stunned, then burst into laughter.
Just giving her a chance to do something for him made her this happy.
But it was Su Zixi , who became irreplaceable in his heart.
The man’s gaze softened.
The two of them watching a movie inevitably meant renting out the whole theater.
But to Su Zixi’s surprise, He Jingyao didn’t make any moves on her throughout the movie; instead, he held her hand and watched the whole movie with her.
After the movie, they went to the restaurant they had reserved.
Once seated, He Jingyao suddenly looked at her seriously, “Zhixi, your makeup has smudged.”
“What?” Su Zixi was shocked and immediately grabbed her purse and headed to the restroom, “I’ll go touch it up!”
A hint of a smile appeared in He Jingyao’s eyes before he turned his attention outside the restaurant.
Before long, He Yirong walked in, sat down opposite him, his expression as grim as ever.
