"Qixi is here!" Xiaobao exclaimed, suddenly jumping up in excitement, "Dad, let Qixi in quickly!"
He Jingyao pressed the riled little guy back into his seat, looked down, and gave him a stern glance, "Sit nicely for me."
Xiaobao hurriedly placed his hands properly on his knees, afraid that his father wouldn’t let him see his idol.
He Jingyao looked at Uncle Li, "A child from a relative’s house? Is that what she said?"
Uncle Li nodded, "Miss Lu also mentioned that she had previously brought up you, sir, to the young master, which is why he has been pestering you..."
He Jingyao raised an eyebrow, "She has certainly chosen a good candidate."
With Lu Qixi’s reputation out there, she wouldn’t be a fraud, that was one thing, and the little guy liked her immensely; he would definitely be willing to go with Lu Qixi, that was another thing.
If He Jingyao still didn’t know that Xiaobao was his son, he would most likely have believed it.
"Master, what should we do?" Uncle Li asked.
"Tell her that unless the child’s parents come in person, I will not hand him over to anyone," He Jingyao said indifferently, "Who knows what Miss Lu’s intentions are?"
Upon hearing this, Xiaobao became extremely angry, "Qixi is a good person! Don’t you malign her!"

Xiaobao looked up in disbelief, "Dad, you’re so mean! I don’t love you anymore!"
He Jingyao ignored him, saying to Uncle Li, "Send her away."
With no other choice, Uncle Li glanced at the little guy and responded, "Yes."
Outside the villa, Lu Qixi listened to Uncle Li’s tactful refusal, "I’m truly sorry, Miss Lu. Our sir says that he needs the child’s parents to come in person to take responsibility for the child before he can part with him."
Lu Qixi pulled down her scarf a bit, "Uncle, I’m somewhat of a celebrity. Do you really think I would do something like abducting a child? Besides, Xiaobao really likes me; he would certainly be willing to leave with me."

Lu Qixi turned back to her car and reluctantly made a phone call.
"Is this Mr. Pei? Sorry, Mr. He Jingyao said that unless the child’s parents come personally, he won’t hand over the child. I can’t do anything about it."
On the other end of the line, Pei Yuanchen smiled faintly, "Alright, I understand. Thank you, we’re even now."
"You’re welcome. I wasn’t able to help after all," Lu Qixi said with a smile before hanging up.
Meanwhile, Pei Yuanchen put away his phone and turned to see the surprised face of Gu Zhixi.
"Since when did you know Lu Qixi, and even exchange contact information?" Gu Zhixi asked intently.
"That day you asked me to pick up Xiaobao, she found out I was Xiaobao’s uncle," Pei Yuanchen replied indifferently with a glance.
"There’s more to it," Zhixi pressed on, "What do you mean by ’we’re even now’?"
