Zhixi felt so self-conscious that for the rest of the trip she didn’t dare look at He Jingyao again, either talking to her son or looking out the window. Despite that, the heat on her face never seemed to fade.
“Dad,” Xiaobao turned his head to look at He Jingyao with a shy smile, “I want a little sister.”
He Jingyao paused for a moment, “Why?”

Zhixi, upon hearing Xiaobao’s words, couldn’t help but sneak a glance his way.
Knowing He Jingyao as she did, she was sure that he would not pass up the chance to play the rogue with her at a time , likely to tease her to the fullest extent.
Yet the man remained silent.
Zhixi was taken aback… Was it her imagination? Why did she feel like his expression turned somewhat gloomy?
“What if there’s no little sister?” He Jingyao finally spoke, his voice slightly husky.
Xiaobao was conflicted for a moment before begrudgingly saying, “Then… a little brother is fine, too.”
He Jingyao suddenly laughed, but a complex, indescribable emotion flickered in the depths of his eyes.
