I hacked through the chaotic world with my blade Chapter 524

"I think Grandpa Xia must be wondering if this could be due to the limits of species, and to obtain effective data, it would be necessary to proceed with human testing. I know that he is unwilling to experiment on others and would only experiment on himself in the end, so I cannot allow that to happen," Ji Qiuyue said as she drew her own blood with a syringe, then sealed and stored it.

"Grandpa Xia, this is my blood after injecting Lucky Cell, and now I will observe what’s happening in it," Ji Qiuyue stated.

After saying this, the scene shifted.

Professor Xia had a lot to say, but he knew that no amount of talking would help now; the deed was done. He only hoped that Ji Qiuyue would be safe and that Lucky Cell would not pose any danger to the human body.

Often, the very thing one fears becomes the source of dread.

The Lucky Cells injected into the body seemed to take root and began devouring the surrounding cells voraciously. It was as if the Lucky Cells took over the body as their territory, and all other cells were treated as invaders, consumed in a manner akin to the zombie virus.

Suddenly, the scene turned red.

Ji Qiuyue spat out a mouthful of blood which was a light red color, almost like water.

came Ji Qiuyue’s voice.

"Grandpa Xia, my arm’s skin is showing signs of ulceration," she reported.

Professor Xia grew anxious, trying to think of a solution.

it was as if he thought of something, "Qiuyue, quickly inject the zombie virus, quick, you must hurry," he urged.

Ji Qiuyue, enduring the pain, grabbed a syringe filled with the zombie virus and stabbed it fiercely into her arm.

Professor Xia steadied his breathing.

He didn’t know if it would work.

But it was the only way, otherwise, he truly did not know what else to do.

it felt like a long time had passed.

"Grandpa Xia, I feel much better," Qiuyue said, checking her arm. The skin that showed signs of rot appeared to be healing as if treated, gradually returning to normal.

She drew more blood to observe at the same time.

Under Professor Xia’s observation, the zombie virus was contending with the Lucky Cells, to the extent that the Lucky Cells didn’t have time to deal with the normal cells within Ji Qiuyue’s body.

Professor Xia frowned.

Although there was a temporary stability, given this situation, the zombie virus inside Ji Qiuyue would eventually dissipate. When that time comes, it was feared the same issue would emerge.

Could it be... that constant injections of the zombie virus were necessary to maintain the current state?

The research on Lucky Cell might really have to stop here.

Professor Xia ran his hands through his graying hair, caught in a dilemma, a bit anxious and helpless. Ji Qiuyue’s condition left him at a loss, unable to decide on a course of action for a moment. The potency of Lucky Cell exceeded his imagination.

The serum had the power to consume the zombie virus.

Lucky Cell possessed a similar ability, even stronger and more destructive.

"Qiuyue, inform me immediately of any situation. For your safety and the safety of Galaxy Base, do not leave casually, and even refrain from contacting anyone," Professor Xia did not wish for such a situation to arise.

But it was the only thing that could be done at the moment.

Ji Qiuyue’s spirits gradually revived, and she smiled, "I understand."

Grandpa Xia’s grave expression was evident to her, and she could also feel the condition of her body. Injecting Lucky Cell offered no turning back, certainly not. Other than moving forward, there was no choice.

If she felt regret, she would not have done such reckless things.

She only wanted to use herself as the test subject. Grandpa Xia’s knowledge was a precious treasure among the surviving humans, nothing must happen to him.

"What? They haven’t returned yet?" Eagle was shocked. When people from Galaxy Base said those sent to fetch the War Armor hadn’t come back, he was totally baffled.

They had left several days ago, for goodness’ sake.

Even on horseback, they should have arrived by now.

Not only were they carrying War Armor, but also some energy crystals, which were one of the key weapons for humans to counter zombies. They better not say these guys encountered a zombie ambush on their way back.

It seemed quite impossible.

With just a bit of caution,

such an incident wouldn’t happen.

in a refuge over four hundred kilometers from Galaxy Base,

"I have said all there is to say," a young scientific researcher said, covered in wounds, looking at the group of survivors before him that appeared no less than wild, devilish beasts. He was truly afraid, feeling as if their eyes could devour a person.

"You say this is War Armor, and these are energy crystals that can be absorbed by the War Armor to become stronger?" a muscular man with a beard and a face flush with flesh inquired. His robust physique indicated his strength.

Other survivors gathered around, making strange noises at the sight of the metallic War Armor in the iron box.

The researcher swallowed nervously, fearfully nodding.

"Yes, that’s the situation. Please, don’t hurt me. I am a scientific researcher, with much to offer," he pleaded.

He still had no idea what had happened.

His group was returning with goods,

their armored vehicle was sent spinning as if struck by some force. When he came to, he saw a group surrounding him, their fierce eyes seemingly ready to devour him.

Frightened, he quickly declared his identity.

The muscular man lifted the War Armor from the box with one hand. With others’ assistance, he donned it successfully and slapped an energy crystal onto the War Armor. With a crack, the crystal shattered, and the energy merged into the War Armor.
