Unable to watch her husband die from curiosity anymore, Mu Mingtang leaned over and whispered about the relationship between Jiang Mingwei and Ye Luyan. Xie Xuanchen, who finally understood the situation, stated. “Hmm… No wonder the four of them were acting so awkward. After giving it some thought, she had an odd feeling: “Then why do I always feel like you are old?”
“That’s because I became well known quickly,” Xie Xuanchen sighed deeply as he said helplessly, “Becoming famous too soon is also a burden. I have a long history of fame, but people just don’t realise that I am still very young.”
Mu Mingtang couldn’t bear hearing those words. She glanced at the annoying Xie Xuanchen and said, “Shut up!”
After receiving a scolding, Xie Xuanchen decided to let it go. The two of them continued to walk while conversing. Soon, they entered the banquet hall.
Xie Xuanchen inquired, “Why did you wait so long outside? I decided to go look for you when I couldn’t find you here.”
“The meal hadn’t started yet, and the palace was too stuffy, so I decided to just stroll outside for a while,” Mu Mingtang replied.
After Xie Xuanchen heard it, he asked softly, “Is it because I was inside the hall, so you didn’t want to come back?”
Ye Luyan was meeting with the prime minister and others when he heard a voice speaking softly in the distance. That voice belonged to their nightmare. So, he quickly turned his head, only to find Xie Xuanchen standing there with Mu Mingtang and happily conversing with her.
‘So, it was really Xie Xuanchen who spoke just now?’

He was often portrayed as a monster with a ghost face and fangs, three heads, and six arms in Beirong’s nursery songs.
When Ye Luyan saw Xie Xuanchen at the Lantern Festival, the first impression was that Xie Xuanchen was a delicate, handsome nobleman, and nobody thought such a delicate man would be Xie Xuanchen, the God of Killing.
After that incident, Ye Luyan persuaded himself not to judge a person by his appearance. But now, when Xie Xuanchen’s soft words floated into Ye Luyan’s ears, his mentality collapsed yet again.
