Xie Xuanchen immediately wanted to slap himself. He knew that he should always be careful, but why didn’t he pay attention to his words?! Mu Mingtang blushed, wanting to scold the person in front of her for a moment. Seriously, did he have any flair at all? The two of them only just made up their minds, so how could he mention such things during a warm and romantic moment?

Hence, he merely pretended that he didn’t hear his colleagues clearly before turning around and going back to read his medical books. However, the other doctors were not very happy. For Xie Xuanchen to summon some unknown scam of a practitioner to read his pulse instead of requesting their assistance was practically a slap in the face to them.
The Emperor sent five Imperial Doctors to attend to Xie Xuanchen’s condition, but the five of them were aware that they were merely sent to dabble in their jobs, not really needing to treat him seriously. Apparently, it was fine for them to not take their jobs seriously, but if Xie Xuanchen were to seek out someone else for medical assistance, it was ironically considered unacceptable.
