Winter was extremely cold as the charcoal fire burned weakly in the early morning. It was freezing to the point where the people who were asleep didn’t want to wake up.
Jiang Mingwei was wearing a light blue dress with a squirrel fur-coated neckline. She sat in front of the vanity mirror and had her servant apply her makeup. She looked carefully at the person in the mirror and noticed that she had gained a small amount of weight recently, evident by the way her cheeks no longer seemed sunken. The servants seemed very satisfied, but Jiang Mingwei herself felt that she was too fat and her face looked big. In addition, she didn’t sleep well last night. Hence, her eyes appeared swollen and she looked very lethargic, seemingly unable to exude her usual eye-catching beauty.
Jiang Mingwei had no choice but to let the servant focus on using powder to make her face as fair as possible and highlight her facial features. She examined her makeup before she suddenly remembered something and asked, “Recently, what’s been going on next door?”
