“Would you like some red wine?” Tantai Wanrong asked Ye Fan.
Tantai Wanrong slightly turned her charming face and said to Qin Mengyao, “Yaoyao, help auntie get a chilled bottle of red wine and two glasses.”
“Auntie, I want to drink too,” Qin Mengyao cooed.
Tantai Wanrong sternly replied, “No, you have the college entrance exams in just a couple of days.”
“I understand,” Qin Mengyao said, lowering her head and pouting as she stood up to get the wine and glasses.
Ye Fan then remembered the annual college entrance exams were approaching. He had never taken the exams and had no real concept of them.
“How has Yaoyao’s recent performance been?” Ye Fan couldn’t help but ask Tantai Wanrong in a caring, soft voice.
Tantai Wanrong showed a relieved smile and softly said, “This crazy girl has finally started to understand things and has been working hard. Her scores in the recent mock tests were good. If she performs well, she might be able to get into a first-tier university.”
At this point, Qin Mengyao had returned with the wine and glasses, prompting Ye Fan and Tantai Wanrong to immediately stop discussing Qin Mengyao’s studies.
Ye Fan took the wine and the corkscrew, deftly opening the bottle.
A few minutes later, Ye Fan and Tantai Wanrong clinked glasses and took a sip.
Qin Mengyao, sitting nearby, watched them eagerly. She too wanted a drink and had not had one for a long time, but with the college entrance exams imminent and evening self-study at school today, she had to restrain herself.

Tantai Wanrong saw Qin Mengyao off, closed the door behind her, then elegantly walked back and sat down next to Ye Fan.
With Qin Mengyao gone, only Ye Fan and Tantai Wanrong remained in the living room.
Ye Fan turned to look at Tantai Wanrong, who was sitting beside him, and felt inexplicably a bit nervous.
“Have you finished with your business?” Tantai Wanrong asked sweetly.
Ye Fan knew Tantai Wanrong was referring to his months abroad. He nodded and saidsomberly, “It’s over.”
“It seems you are not very happy?” Tantai Wanrong asked with concern.
Ye Fan gave a self-deprecating smile and said in low spirits, “A bit. Some things I once thought were eternal, that were once my beliefs, suddenly vanished. It really does not sit well with me.”
He could preach great philosophies to comfort his comrades, but deep down, he couldn’t truly let go himself.
“Although I don’t know what you’ve been through, as people, we need to look forward,” Tantai Wanrong said, gazing into Ye Fan’s eyes. Her soft, boneless hand reached out, gently took Ye Fan’s left hand, and placed it on her right thigh. Her other hand gently patted the back of Ye Fan’s hand to comfort him.
Ye Fan silently nodded.
“Don’t be sad, okay?” Tantai Wanrong said tenderly, letting go of Ye Fan’s hand. Her slender arm reached around Ye Fan’s back, landed on his shoulder, and then gently pulled him into her embrace.
Ye Fan leaned into Tantai Wanrong’s soft embrace and remained silent.

Tantai Wanrong had never seen Ye Fan , her heart ached even more, she hugged Ye Fan tighter, letting him bury himself in her warm embrace, comforting him silently.
After about fifteen minutes, Ye Fan felt much better, left Tantai Wanrong’s embrace, and sat up straight.
“Sorry, I just lost my composure,” Ye Fan said somewhat embarrassedly.
Tantai Wanrong gently took one of Ye Fan’s hands, the other hand softly caressing the back of his hand, and she shook her beautiful head lightly facing him.
Ye Fan showed a smile and said, “Aunt Wanrong, you are so kind.”
“Mhm,” Tantai Wanrong responded with a smile.
After about five or six minutes, although Ye Fan was reluctant, he still discreetly withdrew his hand.
Both Ye Fan and Tantai Wanrong adjusted their emotions and then started chatting casually.
They talked for about fifteen minutes, when Tantai Wanrong asked, “Ye Fan, in the past six months, Zhao Jun’s personality has changed quite a bit, she hasn’t interacted much with people. Did something happen?”
“Indeed, some things happened,” Ye Fan nodded, “She doesn’t even recognize me much anymore.”
“Did you have a fight or a cold war?” Tantai Wanrong inquired further.

“She can’t stop; she’s become somewhat obsessed,” Ye Fan said, “But, I’ve found a solution. She will recover in a while.”
Tantai Wanrong slightly relaxed but still expressed some concern, “I hope she recovers soon.”
After sitting and chatting for more than an hour, Tantai Wanrong felt a bit tired in her buttocks and stood up.
