“What position?” Yun Qi inquired further.
In fact, she could easily find out a lot of information about Ye Fan, but she preferred to ask him directly.
Ye Fan replied, “Political Commissar.”
Yun Qi’s eyes lit up, and she smiled, “Not bad.”
“Just getting by,” Ye Fan responded modestly.
This was his genuine feeling; although he had been conscientious and responsible since becoming a police officer in Mingde County, he knew he wasn’t truly committed to being a civil servant.
Then, Yun Qi curiously asked about Ye Fan’s work as a police officer in Mingde County.
The two chatted casually, discussing various matters about policing before Yun Qi steered the conversation towards herself, sharing some details about her life to allow Ye Fan to know her better.
They sipped tea and chatted, and time flew by unnoticed.
Suddenly, Ye Fan’s phone rang. He apologized to Yun Qi and took out his phone to see that it was a call from Hu Jing.
He walked over to the window to answer the call.
“Hu the great beauty, what’s up?” Ye Fan asked softly.
From the phone came Hu Jing’s voice, “Have you gone home?”
“No,” Ye Fan replied. He didn’t want Hu Jing to inquire further about what he was doing, so he quickly asked, “What’s up?”
“Hehe, nothing much. Just didn’t see you and wanted to give you a call,” Hu Jing said flirtatiously with a giggle. “Ye Fan, when you leave, let me know, and I’ll go with you.”
“Okay,” Ye Fan responded.
He then hung up the phone.
Ye Fan turned back, and Yun Qi was elegantly sipping her tea.
Ye Fan rejoined her, and without asking about the call, they continued their earlier conversation.
Ye Fan and Yun Qi chatted for nearly half an hour before they finally got up and returned to the party hall together.
Back in the party hall, where the party atmosphere was still lively. However, the dance floor had thinned out. After all, the party had been going on for a while and those who enjoyed dancing were somewhat tired.
Seeing that only two or three couples were dancing the waltz, Yun Qi smiled at Ye Fan and said, “Ye Fan, let’s dance a round.”
“Sure,” Ye Fan replied with a smile.
Then, he gentlemanly led Yun Qi towards the dance floor.
As they walked towards the dance floor, they quickly drew the attention of nearly everyone present.
Yun Qi was not only the host but also strikingly beautiful and charismatic, so her presence on the dance floor naturally drew gazes.
Additionally, as Ye Fan and Yun Qi stepped onto the dance floor, the pianist performing onstage stopped playing, ready to wait for Yun Qi and Ye Fan to position themselves before starting again.

Soon, only Ye Fan and Yun Qi remained.

Yun Qi replied with a smile, “So you’ll have to dance seriously.”
They talked, facing each other as they readied themselves in their dancing pose.
At that moment, the piano music resumed, timed perfectly, and Ye Fan and Yun Qi began dancing the waltz with the music.
No complicated moves or flashy dancing skills were showcased; Ye Fan and Yun Qi simply danced normally. Their movements were smooth as if they were lovers enjoying the joy of dance.

After the dance, Ye Fan and Yun Qi bowed to the audience, then walked off the dance floor.

He took out his phone and called Hu Jing.
Hu Jing heard the ringtone, pulled her phone out from her purse, and walked away from the group of men to answer near the window.
“I’m about to leave, how about you?” Ye Fan asked.
“Okay. Where are you?” Hu Jing responded.
“Hehe, you’re quite popular now, I dare not openly take you away to avoid resentment. Let’s leave separately and meet at the parking lot,” Ye Fan suggested.
Hu Jing, somewhat proudly, giggled and agreed.
After hanging up, Ye Fan approached Yun Qi to bid her farewell.
Yun Qi excused herself from the guest she was talking to with a “Sorry, I’ll be right back,” then led Ye Fan to a secluded corner where they stood face-to-face for a close conversation.
