Chapter 785: Chapter 781 Despair of Hope
“I had a great time tonight,” Dongfang Yun Qi said, “a pleasant conversation and a dance.”
Ye Fan smiled and replied, “The thanks should be mine; thank you for your hospitality.”
Dongfang Yun Qi slightly brightened up into a smile, her charm radiating forth. Since they were standing very close, Ye Fan couldn’t help but be momentarily stunned.
“You’re not in a hurry to go to Mingde County these days, are you?” Dongfang Yun Qi asked in a soft voice, seemingly unaware of Ye Fan’s bewilderment.
“Um, I haven’t decided when yet. I probably won’t be leaving so soon,” Ye Fan regained his composure and responded.
Dongfang Yun Qi chuckled and said, “Then good. Let’s have dinner together again when you’re free.”
Ye Fan nodded and then said, “I’m leaving now, goodbye.”
“Let me walk you out,” Dongfang Yun Qi offered.
Ye Fan was startled by her words, then assumed Dongfang Yun Qi felt guilty for An Qiye having wronged him twice and wanted to see him off because of that.
Thus, Ye Fan and Dongfang Yun Qi walked side by side toward the party hall’s main entrance.
Once outside, they followed the corridor for about a dozen meters before reaching the elevator.
Ye Fan pressed the elevator button, and since it was already on their floor, it immediately dinged and opened.
Turning to face Dongfang Yun Qi, Ye Fan said, “Please, don’t bother.”
Dongfang Yun Qi nodded slightly and said, “Take care on your way home and stay safe.”
Ye Fan gave a brief nod, said goodbye again, and stepped into the elevator.
Dongfang Yun Qi stood at the elevator door, watching Ye Fan inside until the doors automatically closed.
Ye Fan rode the elevator down, while Dongfang Yun Qi turned and went back.
However, after taking just a few steps, she was met by Hu Jing coming her way.
“Miss Yun Qi,” Hu Jing greeted her with a smile.
Dongfang Yun Qi stopped and asked, “Hu Jing, you’re going home so early?”
“Yes. I’m a bit tired, so I left early,” Hu Jing apologized.
Dongfang Yun Qi replied with a light shake of her head and a smile, “You’re welcome to attend Yun Qi’s parties more often.”
Hearing this, Hu Jing felt a wave of excitement and gratefully said, “Thank you, Miss Yun Qi.”
As Hu Jing moved past Dongfang Yun Qi toward the elevator, a sly expression crossed her pretty face. She had seen Dongfang Yun Qi sending off Ye Fan with her own eyes.
When Hu Jing reached the parking lot via the elevator, she saw Ye Fan’s tall figure.
“I thought you couldn’t bear to leave,” Ye Fan said, turning around with a smile upon hearing Hu Jing’s approaching footsteps.
As Hu Jing reached Ye Fan, she subtly fluttered her eyelashes and joked with a laugh, “How could I? I just saw Dongfang Yun Qi seeing you off. You sure have a lot of clout.”
“We are friends. It’s only normal for her to see me off when I’m heading home,” Ye Fan replied with an easy smile.
Suddenly, Hu Jing placed a hand on her stomach.
Concerned, Ye Fan asked, “What’s wrong? Stomach ache?”
“No, just a bit hungry,” Hu Jing replied with a hopeful look in her eyes, “Shall we go for some late-night snacks?”
Ye Fan pondered for a moment and then suggested, “Alright. Let’s go to the dining area of Dingsheng International Hotel.”
“Thank you,” Hu Jing exclaimed with joy.
Afterward, they each got into their own cars and drove off together.
When they reached Dingsheng International Hotel and got out of the cars, Hu Jing walked up to Ye Fan and lightly laced her arm through his.
Ye Fan glanced at the captivating Hu Jing and laughed lightly, “We’re not going to a party, so there’s no need for this, right?”
“Hee hee.” Hu Jing giggled and instead clung tighter to Ye Fan’s arm, pressing her soft and full bosom against it.
Feeling the unusual sensation against his arm, Ye Fan stiffened slightly, then gave a wry smile and let Hu Jing hold onto him.
They made their way to the dining hall together, and Hu Jing asked, “Ye Fan, you’re staying at Dingsheng International Hotel, aren’t you?”
“Yes,” Ye Fan didn’t hide it.
After eating a late-night snack face to face, they left the restaurant, and Ye Fan bid Ye Fan farewell.
But Hu Jing shook her head, still holding onto Ye Fan’s arm, “No rush. Even though my home is near Dingsheng International Hotel, I haven’t had a chance to seriously look around the inside of this hotel. Tonight is the perfect opportunity for a tour.”
“Dingsheng International Hotel isn’t anything special; it’s not any different from other hotels. There’s no need for a tour.” Ye Fan said with a slight frown, guessing a bit of Hu Jing’s intentions.
In a whining tone, Hu Jing protested, “No, I really do want a tour. If you don’t want to walk with me, then I’ll explore on my own. If I accidentally get dragged into a room and… taken advantage of, I’ll just accept my bad luck.”
Ye Fan was silent for a while, feeling he should make things clear to Hu Jing, even tell her he was already married, to get her to give up completely.
“Fine,” Ye Fan finally said.
“Hee hee, thank you,” Hu Jing giggled, then said in an alluring manner, “I’ll repay you.”
Ye Fan shook his head with a light smile.
Five or six minutes later, Ye Fan led Hu Jing into a presidential suite.
After entering the presidential suite, Hu Jing let go of Ye Fan’s arm, and looked up with bright eyes at the luxury decor and furnishings, exclaiming, “Ye Fan, you really know how to enjoy life. Staying in such a nice presidential suite by yourself!”
Ye Fan ignored Hu Jing’s comment, went to the sofa, and started to make tea.
Hu Jing finished touring the inside of the presidential suite and then took a bottle of Elu 16 and two glasses from the minibar, came over, and sat down next to Ye Fan.
“There’s actually a high-end minibar,” Hu Jing said, “Let’s have a couple of drinks, it won’t make you weep over the expense, right?”
“It’s just a bottle of liquor,” Ye Fan said indifferently and then handed Hu Jing a cup of freshly brewed tea.
Taking the tea, Hu Jing took a sip and remarked, “This tea is nice, although not as good as my Jin Jun Mei.”
After drinking a cup of tea, Ye Fan shifted a bit to the left, increasing the distance between himself and Hu Jing, then turned and said seriously, “Hu Jing, I think we need to have a serious conversation.”
“There’s no need. Life is short, isn’t it better to be a little confused?,” said Hu Jing, attempting to cuddle up to Ye Fan, but she was immediately blocked.
Ye Fan said sternly, “I’m serious.”
Seeing Ye Fan’s serious demeanor, Hu Jing had to drop her seductive act and sat up straight.
“I’m already married,” Ye Fan revealed.
Hu Jing was taken aback, her eyes wide with disbelief, “You, you’re already married to Lu Xiaoman?”
“Not Xiaoman, it’s Zhao Jun,” said Ye Fan, “Your chairwoman Li Zhaojun.”
“Ah!” Hu Jing couldn’t help but let out an exclaim, “Th-this, this…”
She wanted to say it was impossible, but her mind quickly flashed back to when Ye Fan was still at Emali Group, and Li Zhaojun’s attitude towards Ye Fan seemed off, not like how a cousin would usually treat another cousin.
Ye Fan nodded emphatically, “So, we are impossible.”
Hu Jing slumped back into the sofa, disheartened.
Originally, after spending an entire evening with Ye Fan, she had reignited her intentions, even stronger than before, determined to snatch Ye Fan from Lu Xiaoman’s hands, to the point where she was even prepared to give Ye Fan her chastity, which she had preserved for many years.
