Magic Sword, Zilinilam.
This was one of the four swords owned by a hero called the "Black Knight" among the thirteen heroes who ended the Demonic Chaos 200 years ago.
Legend has it that the "Black Knight" was a hybrid of human and demon, carrying four pitch-black swords: Zilinilam, which could release dark energy; the Decaying Sword Kurokdarbal, whose wounds couldn’t heal; the Mortal Sword Shifez, lethal from a mere scratch; and the Evil Sword Xumilis, concealing unknown special powers.
These four pitch-black swords scattered across the world, their whereabouts unknown, gradually became the stuff of legend, desired by countless people without knowing if they truly existed.
However, Lakyus’s emergence turned this legend into reality.
Because one of those four pitch-black swords, the one that could release dark energy—the Magic Sword Zilinilam, is now in her hands.
This enormous transforming sword is one of the pitch-black swords held by the Black Knight of the thirteen heroes, the Magic Sword Zilinilam.
Lakyus came forward with this sword, alongside the rest of the members of "Crimson Rose," to meet Reiger and Brian.
"Sorry, we didn’t mean to eavesdrop on your conversation, we just happened to come out of the inn and saw you two standing here saying those things, so we couldn’t help but speak up, please forgive us."
Lakyus first apologized to Reiger and Brian, taking the blame for Gegran suddenly interrupting their conversation onto the whole group.
The rest of the "Crimson Rose" members didn’t apologize, but they stood behind Lakyus, looking at Reiger and Brian with expressions that revealed a special gleam.
Especially Tia and Tina, who, after sizing up Brian, quickly turned their gaze to Reiger as if scrutinizing something, fixating on him without looking away.
In such a situation, Iveyer managed to maintain silence, not speaking out, while Gegran stepped forward, grinning at Brian.
"It seems you’ve really regained your confidence as a warrior, Brian Angelos, I’ve got to look at you with new eyes now."
Hearing this, Brian restrained his naïve expression and shrugged his shoulders.
"It was just being woken up by Lord Brilliant, to speak of it is quite embarrassing." Brian observed the people of "Crimson Rose" for a while, and then smiled, "So this is it, the true formation of ’Crimson Rose,’ one of just two Mithril-ranked adventurer teams in the past Kingdom, impressive. Even I can feel your strength is not below mine, and two of you even surpass me. I really was too narrow-sighted in the past."
In the past, although Brian had heard of the great name of "Crimson Rose," he had never taken them seriously.
He stubbornly believed that within the Kingdom, the only ones who could be his match were Gejiev, and only Gejiev could defeat him; the rest were merely insignificant, even if they were the top-level Mithril adventurers, he could win against them.
He thought he would not lose to any human other than Gejiev Strogonov, that’s what the old Brian believed.
But now, he understood that such a notion was merely arrogance.
Facing them now, Brian immediately sensed that whether it was Gegran, Tia, or Tina, none were much inferior to himself; Lakyus particularly gave him a dangerous feeling, making him think he probably could not match this true Priest Warrior who had stepped into the Heroic Domain.
And as for Iveyer, Brian felt it strange when he first met her yesterday; this little girl didn’t seem very dangerous, yet she was somehow able to stir his keen instincts, faintly letting him understand that he shouldn’t lightly disregard her presence.
That’s why Brian spoke as he did.
"You’re not bad yourself, Mr. Angelos." Lakyus smiled at Brian, saying, "To be a Swordsman who can match the Kingdom Warrior in battle, I’ve long heard of your renown. I heard you had some unpleasant experiences recently; I thought it would take some time for you to recover, but now it seems my worry was unnecessary."
"It’s all thanks to Lord Brilliant." Brian stated without any arrogance, "You should stop calling me a genius Swordsman, just a setback nearly made me lose my spirit, I’m not worthy of calling myself a genius any longer. To continue being regarded as a Swordsman is already a happy affair."
"Compared to me, Lord Brilliant is the true genius, the real Swordsman, and the true strong one; in front of him, it’s better not to bring up my embarrassing deeds."
Brian’s words made everyone turn their attention towards Reiger.
"We of course had heard of Lord Brilliant’s great strength long ago." Lakyus extended her hand towards Reiger, looking him in the eye, "It’s an honor to meet you, Lord Brilliant, I am Lakyus Alvein Dale Aindra, the leader of ’Crimson Rose.’"
No sooner had Lakyus finished speaking, Tia and Tina also spoke up.
