Isekai Adventure in the Dimensional Cube Chapter 445

Peace Town, top floor.

In one of the luxurious suites here, Reiger and Liz had moved in together, one occupying the master bedroom and the other in the secondary bedroom, separated by just one door.

When away from home, to protect the master’s personal safety and to always be ready to follow orders, attendants had the obligation to stay as close as possible to the master to avoid any mishaps due to late detection or reaction.

Based on this principle, the group of six, including Reiger, did not stay in separate single rooms but paired up and entered the suites in twos.

Reiger and Liz stayed in the same suite, Fannie and Gel did likewise, and even Nipede and Antie shared a suite, always ready to look out for each other.

As the group of six settled in, the sky gradually darkened.

Night had fallen, prompting Reiger, who was standing by the window looking out at the night view of Bessare, to withdraw his gaze.

"Knock, knock, knock..."

Just as Reiger was about to move away from the window to prepare for going out, someone knocked on his room door.

Reiger stopped what he was doing, not surprised by the knock but rather as if he had been expecting it for a long time, and called towards the door.

"Come in, the door isn’t locked."

Upon hearing this, the girl outside hesitated for a moment before pushing the door open and entering.

Liz stood not far from the door, almost as if afraid to approach Reiger, and spoke timidly.

"Why are you standing so far away?" Reiger couldn’t help but laugh and said, "Are you afraid I’ll eat you?"

Liz shook her head vigorously, her small hands fidgeting as she seemed about to say something yet too timid to speak.

Reiger chuckled and sighed, beckoning to Liz, "Alright, don’t just stand there, come here."

Liz still appeared hesitant, but ultimately did not defy Reiger’s instruction and walked toward him.

Reiger carefully observed Liz, noting that the young princess still had a trace of sadness in her eyes.

"What’s wrong?" he asked, reaching out to pat Liz’s head affectionately, "Are you still bothered by that scumbag young master’s matter?"

Liz did not answer directly but instead looked up into Reiger’s eyes before finally speaking, "Master, are you really going to the Meipros family’s house party?"

"Is there a problem?" Reiger smiled faintly and said, "Do you, like Jialan, think I am not a match for the Border Guardian Sword Saint? Or are you worried that my conflict with Revin Meipros could really affect the national defense of the Kingdom of Ginas?"

It was understandable if that was the case.

After all, Liz was a princess of the Kingdom of Ginas, born and raised on this land; feeling concern for the safety and security of her country was only natural.

Yet, confronted with Reiger’s retort, Liz still shook her head.

"I just don’t want my master to provoke such a formidable opponent because of me."

Liz finally spoke up in a somewhat despondent tone.

Regarding the events of the previous night, Liz genuinely felt quite guilty.

The offensive remarks of Ophelit had not greatly impacted this pure-minded young lady, but the fact that he had targeted her was deeply troubling to Liz.

An attendant’s duty was to protect the master and to ease the master’s worries.

However, faced with an unexpected attack the previous evening, Liz was not only unable to defend herself but even required her own master to come to her rescue, which had been somewhat of a blow to the young princess.

To make matters worse, due to her situation, her master had indeed killed Hadi’s heir, offending a local noble equivalent to an earl and even provoking the Border Guardian Sword Saint, leading to a standoff with him, which further overwhelmed Liz.

The pure heart of a girl could not handle too many complexities, thus Liz felt that the escalation of these events was entirely her fault.

If it hadn’t been for her, Hadi’s heir would not have angered Reiger, Reiger would not have killed him on the spot, nor would he have entered into a conflict with Earl Meipros, risking a battle at any moment.

Liz thus viewed all these consequences as her own fault, and her spirits had been down for the journey.

She felt that her presence not only did not make things easier for Reiger but had instead brought him such great trouble.

"What if master really gets into a fight with Earl Meipros, what then?"

"What if master gets hurt because of it, what then?"

"What if the conflict between the two sword saints causes problems at the border, what then?"

These anxieties lingered in Liz’s mind, leaving her feeling both despondent and anxious, almost on the verge of tears.

Indeed, the more seriously Nipede spoke of the situation between Reiger and Revin, the more anxious, worried, and guilty Liz felt, until the night had arrived, and as the Meipros family banquet was about to commence, she could no longer hold back and came over.

"Can we, can we just not go, Master?"

Liz pleaded pathetically, causing Reiger to purse his lips.

Seeing Liz , Reiger knew that the young girl was truly not concerned about Ophelit’s intended offense but was focused only on her own matters.

"...To have been a princess for so many years yet not have developed the temperament of one, but rather, in less than a month’s time, completely assimilated into the role of an attendant. This girl, she really has a spirit of servitude."
