After a vigorous explosion, crimson flames and pitch-black Magic Power burst open in the room, blowing away all the furniture, overturning the rug on the floor, and even causing cracks to appear on the floorboards, shaking the entire hall.
Under such impact, the mirrors placed in the room naturally had no chance of surviving and shattered instantly, turning into a myriad of glass fragments.
The moment the mirror shattered, a girl from within swept out, landing opposite Reiger.
Reiger, however, treated the incoming flames and explosion as if they were nothing; even though he stood amid them, he did not take a single step back, not even his clothes were slightly damaged. He turned leisurely to face the girl who had landed opposite him.
"Ah, you’ve found me."
The girl who emerged from the mirror laughed, showing no awareness of having attacked someone, planning to put them to death.
"Elf Knight Tristan?"
Reiger glanced at the other party and uttered their name.
Unexpectedly, they directly attacked.
Accompanied by the sound of a harp, invisible harp strings transformed into attacks, harsh like a meat grinder, and suddenly twisted towards Reiger.
The ferocity of the attack, with its raging momentum, left no doubt that the attack aimed to tear Reiger apart.
"[Radiant Golden Red Body]."
Reiger casually activated his Magic, causing golden Magic Power to appear around his body.
"Pfft! Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!..."
In an instant, a series of invisible slashes hit Reiger, igniting the noise of chopping flesh.
However, under the influence of the defensive Magic which could negate slashing attack properties, the fierce attacks lost their power, failing to cause even a slight wound on Reiger, let alone make him shed a drop of blood.
The ravishing girl holding a harp immediately clicked her tongue in displeasure.
"Why won’t you just die quietly?" the girl said, "I was being merciful, not torturing you but giving you a quick end. Isn’t it rude to reject someone’s kindness ?"
Upon hearing this, Reiger narrowed his eyes and looked at the displeased face of the Elf Knight Tristan, suddenly extending his finger again.
Sparks sprang from Reiger’s fingertips, and a slim bolt of lightning shot towards Tristan.
Tristan, with a look of displeasure, instinctively moved away from his spot.
The laser-like lightning immediately struck the wall, causing a muffled blast and revealing a layer of transparent barrier.
Perhaps due to the barrier, the wall struck by the Magic was not destroyed, merely showing streaks of electricity moving across it.
Reiger then withdrew his finger.
"Why would you dodge?" Reiger, feigning confusion, spoke to the unsightly-faced Tristan, "Wouldn’t it be easier just to die? Otherwise, as you put it, isn’t that quite rude?"
Tristan was easily infuriated.
"Clap—clap—clap—clap—"
At this moment, a slow clapping sound emerged.
A man walked out of the shadows, applauding and laughing heartily.
"To see somebody render the young miss ? How rare!"
The man laughed at this.
Tristan glared at the man furiously, causing him to raise his hands in a gesture of surrender.
"Sorry, sorry, it’s not every day I see someone daring to backtalk the young miss. Unlike Woodworth, who only insults brutishly, such a beautiful retort simply couldn’t be overlooked."
The man’s overly refreshing words caused Tristan to angrily turn her head away.
If it were anyone else daring to talk about her like that, with Tristan’s temperament, she would have likely cut their feet off by now, but only Beryl could make her turn a blind eye; this preferential treatment was indeed unique.
Reiger looked somewhat surprised at the slender, wolf-like man.
This guy was also involved?
Beryl, unaware that Reiger had just decided to keep an eye on him days before, energetically greeted him upon seeing Reiger’s surprised expression.
"I never imagined that the future husband of Her Majesty the Queen would know such an insignificant person like me; what an honor."
Hearing this, Reiger put away his surprised expression.
"Insignificant human?" Reiger looked meaningfully at Beryl, saying, "You are no insignificant human."
"...Ho?" Beryl also dropped the smile from his face, staring at Reiger, saying, "It seems you know quite a bit about me, fitting for someone the Queen has set her eyes on."
"Still, this is indeed surprising."
"I’ve never heard that the prophesied Child of Prophecy was a human, you know?"
With these words, Tristan, regardless of Reiger, reacted strongly.
"What?" Tristan said in extreme surprise and shock, "He’s a human?"
"That’s right." Beryl remained as brisk as ever, saying, "Although I don’t know why other elves haven’t noticed, my intuition alone was enough to tell."
In the Fairy Country of Britain, elves generally differentiate themselves from humans based on scent, Magic Power, and appearance.
Like the former Altoria and Woodworth, they used appearance to identify Reiger, believing he was not an elf from the Teragonal Tribes and quite different from the Winged Tribe, and with the King’s Tribe having only one member while the Mirror Tribe had nearly vanished, Woodworth concluded that Reiger was an elf from Paradise, the Child of Prophecy.
