Chapter 191: Chapter 191: Full of Strength
At this point, there’s no need to say anything more. Every American, or rather, every Westerner, knows that although cultivating and dealing this stuff is illegal, at least 90% of Westerners have tried it. It has nearly become a part of Western culture.
Charlize carefully sprinkled some of the powder onto the rolling paper that came with it, then meticulously rolled it up. She had gotten this from Tad, the short, dark guy at the motel; many people bought marijuana from him. Charlize had tried it once or twice before, just as I mentioned before. It’s difficult to find a Westerner who hasn’t tried marijuana—it’s not a drug to them but a way to relieve stress, as long as it’s not overdone. Of course, what counts as overdoing it depends on one’s self-control.
“Please, don’t let me get stressed.” Charlize looked at the poorly rolled “cigarette” in her hand and sighed. She smoked marijuana to relieve the misery during training; she was struggling for survival, biting her teeth and persisting, either studying or working to earn money, with no time for parties or dating. And even then, she only smoked marijuana in unbearable irritation and did it behind her mother’s back.
With a click, the lighter sparked and lit the “cigarette” between her fingers. Charlize closed her eyes, took a deep breath, held it for a few seconds, then bent over and groaned, her face contorting. This continued for some seconds; then, she suddenly looked up and took another deep breath, bursting into giggles, “Oh, damn, I almost forgot this awful feeling, haha, really, haha, it’s unbearable.”
She stood up and staggered toward the door, the floating sensation made her feel like she was walking on marshmallows, and her uncontrollable giggles grew louder.
“Very good, very good, haha, a few more puffs, now I feel much better.” Charlize, now in the hallway, took another deep breath and, giggling, wobbled down the stairs. After the initial discomfort due to not having smoked in a long time, she had started to get into the groove.
At that moment, a noise came from the door followed by Adrian’s voice, “Charli, are you home? Wow, it looks like you’re having a blast by yourself.”
“Yes, dear Ed, I’m here, la la la.” Charlize, halfway down the stairs, stuck out her tongue, made a funny face, and waved to Adrian at the door.
Seeing her , Adrian was visibly astonished, “Are you okay, Charli?”
“Oh, of course, there’s no better time than now, I feel like I’m about to fly.” Charlize said in a singsong voice, then put the “cigarette” to her lips for another puff.
“You’re smoking marijuana?” Adrian, having taken off his jacket and thrown it on the couch, looked interestedly at what she held in her hand, “That’s weird, you just called me dear, and I thought there was something wrong with my ears.”
“Oh, of course, it feels great, do you want to try?” Charlize, flirting coquettishly, swayed over to him and handed him the “cigarette.”
Without a second thought, Adrian took it and took a gentle puff, then closed his eyes to savor it, “Not very high in purity but good enough for the average person.”
Exhaling the smoke from his mouth, his eyes became somewhat glazed, “This is my first time smoking marijuana.”
“My first time? Don’t treat me like a child, Ed, your lies are just awful!” Charlize laughed and snatched the “cigarette” from his hand, then sat down on the couch and took another long drag.
Adrian muttered something and sat down beside her, then snatched the “cigarette” back from her hand.
“Hey, that’s mine! If you want some, why don’t you just buy your own!” Charlize, irked, said as she made a wild grab for it again, lacking her usual composure.
“So stingy.” Adrian rolled his eyes in annoyance; he had only taken a half puff before it was snatched away.
“Aren’t you supposed to be at Monica’s or Julia’s place? Why did you come back?” Charlize, somewhat slow due to the marijuana, just realized something and asked.
“Because I suddenly remembered something, so I decided to come back.” Adrian, who had taken a couple of puffs, didn’t look as spaced-out as her and shook a small box in his hand, “After the clock strikes twelve, you’ll have completed a month at work. I think you’ve done really well, so I wanted to give you a gift.”
“Gifts?” Charlize half-opened her gray-green eyes and stared at the box he handed over for a long while before taking it and tossing it aside without even looking at it, “Not interested.”
Adrian couldn’t help but sigh, “You’ve smoked a bit too much weed, Charli.”
“Too much? How is it too much?” Charlize’s tone suddenly became displeased, “I only had two puffs, and it’s been a really long time since I last smoked. Is that too much?”
Her last sentence came out word by word, her arm waving as if she were giving a speech. Initially, Adrian was shocked, then he smiled, and finally, he showed a look of admiration. After Charli finished her impassioned speech, he raised an eyebrow, “Charli, don’t you think this accusation of harassment…”
“Isn’t it? Isn’t it?!” Fueled by the excitement of the weed, Charlize shouted again, her face looking defiantly at Adrian. She picked up the small gift box she had tossed aside and shook it, “You give me gifts, isn’t it because you want to sleep with me?!”
“I think you might need…”
“You’re an asshole, Ed! You know, you’re a real asshole!” Charlize cut him off again, poking his shoulder repeatedly with her finger, “You’re actually dating two women at the same time. You definitely don’t know that at the Vanity Fair party that night, I was just on the other side of the hallway, listening to you getting intimate with Julia! You had just finished chatting with Julia and then went on to chat with Monica, you really have the nerve, Ed!”
“Okay, Charli,” Adrian laughed and grabbed her hand, “You misunderstood, that night in the room I was indeed just chatting with Julia.”
“Look, you’re making excuses again. Don’t you even have the courage to admit it?”
“I indeed was dating Monica and Julia at the same time, and I never deny what I’ve done. But if I haven’t done it, I won’t admit it either, and if you don’t believe me, you can go ask Julia.”
“You definitely did it! Don’t think you can fool me!”
“You did!” Charlize suddenly pounced over, straddling Adrian’s legs, grabbed his collar, and shook him furiously, “I said you did, that means you definitely did!”
“Hahaha.” Adrian was shaken into laughter, “Okay, you say I did, so I did then.”
But this concession didn’t calm Charlize down; instead, it made her even more enraged. She glared at him for a long while, breathing harder, and eventually leaned down and fiercely kissed him.
Adrian was slightly surprised at first, then without hesitation, he tangled with Charlize’s tongue. Although she struggled vigorously, her kissing skills were comparatively naive, and she soon became breathless.
