"Alright, take Qin Qin to have something to eat; she hasn’t had a bite in a while," Mo Cang said to Mo Yunchen.
Mo Yunchen nodded and led Qin Qin towards the buffet.
"Not really!" She had eaten something before coming and wasn’t too hungry yet.
"Have something to eat, and then we’ll head back after a while."
Mo Yunchen picked out several slices of cake for Qin Qin and led her to a sofa at the side, where quite a few men and women gazed at the scene with envy and jealousy. It was the first time they had seen Master Mo treat a woman with such tenderness. Not even Jing Zhimei, who had been by his side for over a decade, received such attention from him. Speaking of Jing Zhimei, they realized they hadn’t seen her for quite some time. Could it be that she was so upset she had left?
Qin Qin sat on the sofa, while Mo Yunchen lazily sat beside her, watching her eat.
"Stop looking at me and go do your stuff; you’re the host, after all." Although they had been together for a while, she felt too self-conscious to eat with him watching her like that in front of everyone.
After pushing Mo Yunchen a few times, a smile flickered across his phoenix eyes, "Okay, stay here. If you’re bored, I’ll have Mu Chienchien keep you company. Wait for me a little longer."
"I got it, I’m fine by myself here," she replied.
She saw Mu Chienchien talking with a few girls and didn’t wish to interrupt.
"Okay! Be good!" He kissed her forehead tenderly, then got up and walked towards the nearby crowd. He wasn’t fond of such functions, but as it was Mo Cang’s birthday today, he was one of the hosts and had to greet some of the elders.
Watching Mo Yunchen’s tall figure as he walked away, Qin Qin smiled slightly. She observed him as he stopped beside Mo Cang to converse earnestly with the elders, his side profile delicate and serious, with the corners of his mouth slightly raised, captivating her gaze.
A male waiter approached Mo Yunchen with a tray of drinks. Mo Yunchen was chatting with Mo Cang and some elders from the political and military circles, casually picking up a glass of red wine to toast with them.
"You’re Qin Qin, right? You’re really pretty. My name is Feng Xiaojing. Can we be friends?"
"I’m Xiao Xiao. Can we be friends?"
No sooner had Mo Yunchen left than several girls approached, eager to make connections with Qin Qin.

"The furthest room on the second floor."

In the back garden, the female waiter pointed to a spot not too far away, Qin Qin’s expression tensed, and after expressing her thanks, she headed in Mu Chienchien’s direction.
Mu Chienchien sat on a wicker chair in the back garden, clutching her stomach. She had been fine just before, but after drinking a glass of wine and feeling slightly tipsy, she came outside, only to then suffer sudden and intense stomach pain. She had quickly sent someone to find Qin Qin.
"What’s wrong?" Qin Qin sat beside Mu Chienchien, taking her pulse with a frown, "What have you eaten?"
"I didn’t eat much, just had a glass of wine. I felt unwell and then my stomach started to hurt terribly after coming out here," Mu Chienchien said, pale and struggling.
"Drink some more water." Qin Qin’s gown had no pockets and she hadn’t brought a bag today; she couldn’t use the occasion to pretend to take some medicine from her space.
"What’s wrong with me?" Mu Chienchien lifted her head and asked with confusion.
