She nodded, inquired about the direction, and proceeded toward the second floor.
The second floor was somewhat silent, a few wall lamps were lit, she called out softly as she walked in the direction the maid had indicated.
After checking several rooms and finding no trace of Mo Yunchen, her brows knit tightly—something felt off.
Taking a few more steps forward, her keen ears picked up a restrained voice from the third room from the end. If not for her sensitive hearing, she might not have heard the sound inside.
Standing in front of that room, Qin Qin heard familiar panting inside. Her expression changed, and she twisted the door open.
In the dark room, with light from the corridor’s wall lamp, she could see a maid lying unconscious inside. A tall, upright figure was now bending over, his right hand propped on the edge of the bed, tightly grasping the bedsheets, seemingly enduring something.
