Lu Wanwan frowned slightly; here in Manchester, the restrooms were separated by gender and not located together.
There was only one restroom and makeup room nearby, so how could there be a man?
She turned in puzzlement and was met with an unusually tall figure clad in a black suit and black shirt, a mere glance was enough to give off an untouchable and chilly aura.
When she looked up, she saw a beautiful and unfamiliar face with delicate features, deep-set Western facial contours, and blue eyes, while the light brown, freshly-cut short hair added an exotic charm.
But as handsome as he was, he appeared as cold as an ice sculpture, devoid of any earthly warmth.
Lu Wanwan speculated that if he were a European male model, he would certainly stand out. It was rare, even amongst those of mixed heritage, to have such a perfect balance of an intriguingly mysterious aura and the elegance of blended features.
As she observed him, the stranger also turned his gaze upon her, his profound blue eyes as calm as ice.
"Miss, I’ve made your purchase." The server trotted over and upon seeing a man by her side, stopped short and almost dared not to speak further.
"Give it to me, thank you," Lu Wanwan said as she stepped forward to take the item and walked straight into the restroom.
The server stood weak at the knees by the door, unable to understand why, but the moment the unfamiliar man looked at her, she felt like she couldn’t move.
It was as if he was willing her to stop.
The man signalled subtly to his subordinate, who then pulled out a photo, "Is there a miss inside who looks ?"
When the server saw him extract the photo from his pocket, she clearly caught a glimpse of a gun holstered on him.
She trembled as she spoke, "I... I don’t know. She... she’s the miss who just asked me to buy the sanitary napkin. I didn’t go inside..."
The man’s brow furrowed slightly, and the server hastily departed.
"Wanwan, thank you," Wen Qiao came out from inside, sticking out her tongue as she spoke while washing her hands at the sink, "I really wouldn’t have known what to do without you."
"These things happen; next time you find yourself in such a situation and there’s no other girl you know, just find Brother Shaoyang, and don’t be embarrassed."
Wen Qiao continued to wash up, "I haven’t known him for very long, it’s too embarrassing to ask such a thing."
"Don’t worry about it a bit; with others, you might have cause for concern, but not with Brother Shaoyang. He definitely won’t mock you, even if you’re just friends."
"We are just friends," Wen Qiao responded.
Lu Wanwan laughed, "Okay, even if you’ve only met him once, he would still help you in this kind of situation."
Having dried her hands, Wen Qiao seemed relieved and smiled at her, "I hope it won’t happen again next time. Shall we go find them now?"
"Yeah," she nodded, then suddenly remembered the strange man outside. For some reason, just the thought of him sent shivers down her spine, even though she knew that it was impossible for danger to arise in such a setting.
"What’s wrong?" asked Wen Qiao, noticing her unease, "Is there a problem?"
Lu Wanwan walked towards the exit as she replied, "It’s nothing really, just... there’s a man outside."
Wen Qiao didn’t understand, "Who is he?"
"I think he seems to be waiting for someone; mainly, he looks quite distinctive. This is a Manchester banquet, yet I haven’t seen any foreigners here before."
Wen Qiao’s face turned pale. "What... what did you say..."
"He should be able to speak Chinese and likely has Asian ancestry."
As they reached the door of the restroom, Wen Qiao stood still, her pale face and wide eyes fixed on the man waiting outside.
