Lu Wanwan quickly averted her gaze; that statement had jolted her awake, making her realize that work was the top priority now.
Fortunately, Xiaolin had prepared a very comprehensive outline, and there wasn’t much for Lu Wanwan to do; she just had to read it out.
Then this man, who was sparing with his words, briefly responded with a couple of sentences.
Because his every answer was too brief, it made the interview unusually quick.
Lu Wanwan was increasingly getting into her rhythm, adopting a very perfunctory attitude, wanting to end this strange interview atmosphere as quickly as possible.
"Mr. Gu, regarding the failure of your first marriage, how has it..." She read absently until this point, then suddenly stopped, stammering, "How... how has it... affected you?"
The gaze upon her seemed to sharpen.

She didn’t hear an answer for a moment.
When she raised her head, she saw his deep, oceanic eyes, and he then asked, "What kind of impact?"
Lu Wanwan glanced at the outline, "On your future choice of a spouse."
"Are you asking whether I would ever marry a woman who dares to ask me for a divorce again?"
She suddenly felt as if she had been scorched by fire.
Yet, his eyes were cold and limpid, and his tone was calm and indifferent, without a trace of personal emotion.
"I mean, whether you would develop a resistance or aversion to marriage and what sort of good or bad impact it has had on your life."
"Who wrote these questions?" His tone suddenly changed.
Lu Wanwan’s eyes were glued to the screen, "They were prepared by a colleague who was supposed to interview you initially, not by me..."
"It’s just a divorce, it doesn’t escalate to that level." He put down his pen, crossed his legs and sat back in his chair.
"So, there was no impact, right? Then, about your ex-wife..."
Lu Wanwan stopped again, cursing in her heart, and decided to skip this question.
"Lu Wanwan!" His voice suddenly tightened, warning her to stop her relentless questioning, "Can’t you be a bit more professional."
Gu Annan suddenly stood up and walked towards her.
His tall shadow fell over her, and he stopped right in front of her, face to face.
Leaning against the edge of the desk with his lower back, arms crossed, he coldly said, "Why don’t you also ask what it feels like to be interviewed by an ex-wife?"
Lu Wanwan quickly scanned the remaining questions, noticing they were all personal.
She turned off the recorder, planning to skip the remainder.
"That’s all for today’s interview, thank you, Mr. Gu, for your cooperation." She also stood up, the man so close to her exerting an overwhelming pressure.
Just as Lu Wanwan was about to leave, she found her wrist grabbed, her body pulled so strongly that she staggered backwards several steps.
Gu Annan’s body quickly blocked her path, his arms encircling her at the edge of the desk.
Lu Wanwan looked up, slowly feeling him close in on her.
Just as their lips were about to touch, Gu Annan reached out to grab a magazine from the desk.
He waved the magazine in his hand, "Business talk over, now don’t you think you owe me some explanations?"
"Don’t just blame it on the paparazzi." Gu Annan held the magazine cover towards her, "I’ve said before, I don’t want to lose face, don’t want to see the Gu family dragged through another scandal. Is this your answer to me?"
"I don’t know how it got photographed..."
"Walking together with him, don’t tell me you weren’t aware of what you were doing!" Gu Annan slammed the magazine on the table.
"Does that mean I can never publicly encounter him again?" her eyes widened.
"Just publicly? Do you think private settings won’t get photographed?"
