Shuman’s eyes were tightly fixed on him, waiting for the man’s next reaction.
Was he questioning Lu Wanwan?
She was unsure, and could only continue to observe.

As Shuman wondered about this, she saw Gu Annan place the phone on the coffee table, his expression turning cold again as he stood up.
"Are there more photos?"
"I’ve given them all to you," Shuman watched as Gu Annan threw those photos into the trash can.
"I don’t want to see these photos appear anywhere," his voice was extremely cold, devoid of any emotion, "If I find them on any media platform, you will be the only one I question."
Shuman’s face instantly lost all its color, "Gu Brother, this isn’t something I can decide..."
"You know yourself how many media you have manipulated. There’s no need for me to lay out the facts before you, right?" the oppressive voice countered. "This kind of thing, I do not want to see it again, including all rumors about a union between the Gu and Shu families... Of course, if you want to marry any of my cousins, that’s your choice. But no more rumors involving my name."
Listening to that methodical voice, Shuman felt a chill at her fingertips, "No, of course not..."
"I will not marry you. I will make this clear to Grandmother myself, and in the future, Ms. Shu need not ’kindly’ shield me from such matters," Gu Annan coldly lifted his chin toward the doorway, "Please leave now."
Shuman felt suffocated and unable to breathe, she hadn’t expected all her efforts to be futile.
Where had things gone wrong?
The suppressed resentment in her heart was growing bit by bit.
As she reached the front door, she heard Gu Annan’s voice again, "Also, Ms. Shu, if you find yourself with free time, perhaps spend it with your own family elders. The affairs of the Gu family need not concern you. Grandmother is unwell, and she needs peaceful rest during this time."
Her face turned even uglier, but all she could do was nod her head.
Pushing open the door and stepping out, just as she was about to leave, she suddenly saw Lu Wanwan standing right outside the door.
"Lu, Miss Lu..." Shuman’s beautiful eyes widened slightly in surprise, gazing at her, but quickly, she regained her composure, "Miss Lu, I’ll be leaving now."
Shuman hurried away, not looking back.
Watching Shuman exit from Gu Annan’s room, Lu Wanwan felt her heart sink completely.
The room door was not closed, and when she looked up again, she saw Gu Annan standing at the doorway.
His handsome face, with its deep-set eyes, was strikingly intense, his gaze firmly on her.
"Won’t you come in?" he raised his eyebrows, scrutinizing the expression on her face closely.
Lu Wanwan suppressed the displeasure in her heart and spoke nonchalantly, "Is the video conference over?"
"Come here," he said softly, extending his hand.
Lu Wanwan glanced at her own room’s door. If not for the fact that she couldn’t immediately open it, her response would probably have only been shutting the door in his face.
Suddenly, she was yanked over with great force, falling directly into his chest, encircled by Gu Annan’s arms, "Is this what you meant by ’not caring for me’?"
