The car was still moving smoothly forward when she lifted her head in surprise and spoke thoughtfully, "Didn’t you say that my father and the senior executives of the company were secretly under investigation? You know clearly even about the ’secret’ investigations, so I suppose agitating things could be quite easy for you. I would take back an empty shell from him, and then... beg you?"
Seeing that Gu Annan did not speak for a moment, Lu Wanwan laughed.
Her laughter contained a bit of self-mockery, but it was not overly sarcastic.
About these matters, her heart had already become much too calm.
The reason she had married him initially was partly because of Jin’an’s shares. Even though she ultimately didn’t use this to make a big fuss, this motive was still a thorn in her side.
Divorcing was partly to rectify this mistake. With past experiences as a lesson, she also knew that what Gu Annan minded most was purposeful exploitation, so of course, she wouldn’t repeat the same error.
"Not willing?" His eyes slightly narrowed, he leaned forward, his body pressing close to hers, his thin lips slightly parted, "What if I told you that Jin’an is in my hands? What would you think?"

"No thoughts really, just surprised that you would be interested in a dying enterprise," said Lu Wanwan in a light tone, somewhat puzzled by his seduction.
"So you don’t want to take it back?" he asked in a low voice, gazing intently at her.
She suddenly felt she did not understand him. Was this a test or something else?
Since the past mistakes could not be repeated, why did he insist on using Jin’an as a lure? Was it to ensure some sort of exchange between them?
She had not believed a word Shuman said at first.
Had Gu Annan’s sudden change really been just for the sake of the two children that he barged back into her life?
No, Shuman was mistaken. She didn’t understand him at all.
No one could force him unless he was willing.
If he really didn’t want to see her again, he wouldn’t feign closeness to her.
"What are your conditions?" Lu Wanwan looked at him for a long while, speaking softly, word by word.
"You," he said succinctly and softly, his fingers gently sliding over her face. "Do you think that counts as a condition?"
Her expression suddenly became serious.
"Alright." Seeing her eyes, Gu Annan didn’t know whether she had remembered something burdensome again.
He casually brushed past this topic, "We’ll talk about it when you no longer want to stay at MG. But from now on, don’t turn off your phone. Let me find you anytime. Also, don’t... stay alone with anyone in a closed space, and tell me immediately if something happens."
Lu Wanwan immediately thought of the incident that had just happened; Gu Annan probably knew about it.
"Just now... there was a little accident." She looked at his face growing stern again, her arm instinctively drawing closer to his waist, "Next time, I’ll have a photographer accompany me, and I won’t turn off my phone. I didn’t mention it earlier because I didn’t want you to worry. Actually, nothing really happened."
"If something had happened, I swear I’d have someone disable him," he said in an extremely cold voice, but he pulled her into his arms after she obediently confessed.
"It’s okay, I taught him a lesson," Lu Wanwan lifted her head, looking at his stern face, her chin rubbing against his chest. "I kicked him once; he’s probably itching with hatred now."
"Next time you encounter someone acting inappropriately towards you, if you can disable them while ensuring your own safety, that would be even better."
"Okay," she agreed readily, "but I’ll try not to cause trouble."
Gu Annan’s expression softened slightly, and he said, looking down, "Whatever trouble you cause, I can handle it."
