"Mommy, it seems like the power went out... right?" Little Momo turned his head, asking in confusion.
"No way!" Lu Wanwan went over to the window to take a look, and it was true!
The power outage was quite extensive; even the street lights were off.
The entrance to the complex was a dim blur of darkness; if it weren’t for the clear night sky, it would’ve been almost like groping in the dark.
"If it’s not a power outage, then what is it?"
"Mommy, I’m afraid of the dark." Little Youyou’s crisp voice rang out quickly, "Uncle Gu? It’s so dark, what should we do?"
Lu Wanwan was really annoyed, why ask him if she’s afraid of the dark...
A power outage meant either maintenance was needed, and Gu Annan wasn’t a deity who could restore electricity immediately.
"Move to a place where the power isn’t out," Gu Annan said without hesitation.
While speaking, he glanced at Little Momo with a meaningful look.
Little Momo’s hint of slyness didn’t escape his gaze.
"No, I have materials at home," Lu Wanwan suddenly felt the man beside her looking at her with wolf-like eyes.
But the thought of being alone with him in a place right now gave her the feeling of a headache coming on.
"Then let’s ask Uncle Gu to take us in," Youyou said sweetly, rudely grabbing his arm, her eyes curving into a smile, "Uncle Gu, could you take us in? Mommy is also afraid of the dark!"
Lu Wanwan pulled at the corner of her mouth, turning her head to see her daughter’s unreserved behavior, feeling quite vexed.
If her daughter took to someone else, would she also cling to them to take her home?
That would be a disaster for the entire family!
"I can," the man’s voice was very steady, without any hesitation.
Lu Wanwan furrowed her brows, curiously looking at Gu Annan, whom Little Youyou was clinging to.
He definitely wasn’t accustomed to being around children, nor was he good at sweet-talking them, but he was tolerating more than he usually would.
At least, Lu Wanwan had never seen anyone step on his car and on him while still wearing shoes and get away with it...
His expression remained indifferent, betraying no emotional fluctuations, yet his eyes revealed an indulgent fondness.

Suddenly, Gu Annan raised his eyes.
His deep black pupils shifted, glancing her way.
His gaze was filled with significance, and the corners of his mouth curled into an intriguing smile.
His voice remained cool and pleasant, "Just not sure if your mommy would mind."
"Mommy would of course..." Little Youyou was about to answer for her mommy.
But turning her head to see her mommy’s expression that read "Are you two ganging up on me?" her voice immediately softened, saying weakly, "Mommy, can we? Can Uncle Gu take us in? Mommy, it’s really very dark."
Little Youyou was genuinely a bit afraid of the dark, but Lu Wanwan was about to agree when she saw someone’s triumphant smile.
Little Momo sat leisurely, swinging his legs, arching his little eyebrows, "Mommy, what are you afraid of?"
"Mommy is of course not afraid!" Lu Wanwan rolled her eyes, "Mr. Gu, I’m sorry to trouble you!"
"It’s nothing at all."
Inviting a wolf into the house and having to say thank you, and the person even had the nerve to accept your request with an arrogant air of stooping?
Lu Wanwan was full of frustration.
As soon as they got out of the car, the driver said with difficulty, "Mr. Gu, it’s difficult to find parking here."
Lu Wanwan was about to suggest a parking spot, but before she could speak, she heard that cool, detached voice give an order, "I know, take the car back."
