Is this considered sweet talk?
Why didn’t she know before that Nathan Moore could speak such charming sweet talk?
Helplessly smiling, Titus Zane finally spoke, with a lazy tone she didn’t even realize she had, "Alright, stop messing around, go practice sweet talk with Lily, she’d be happy to listen."
"No! I want to talk to you!" Through the earpiece, Nathan Moore’s voice sounded somewhat childlike, making Titus Zane even more helpless.
She was indeed older than him, but not old enough to need the patience of soothing a child.
"Nathan Moore, it’s getting late, I need to sleep."
Titus Zane wasn’t sure if it was her illusion, but why did it feel man was acting coquettishly with her?
Feeling more helpless, she moved her slender legs to the bed, massaged her temples with one hand, and leaned forward, feeling somewhat drowsy.
"I’ve already spoken, good night."
"Titus Zane! If you dare hang up, I’ll come over to find you right now!"
Nathan Moore’s voice intercepted Titus Zane’s attempt to hang up, perhaps worried she wouldn’t believe him, he harshly added, "Try and see if I don’t!"
She felt she must be dreaming, otherwise how could Nathan Moore possibly cling to her ?
"Alright, I’m scared of you now,"
An unsatisfied voice came from the earpiece.
"Didn’t you say you have insomnia? Claiming you want to sleep so early, who would believe that!"
"Alright, you talk, I’m listening."
Titus Zane pressed the speaker button, placed the phone on the soft pillow, and also lay down, pulling a thin blanket over herself and closing her eyes.
Titus Zane discovered that Nathan Moore’s voice had a hypnotic effect on her; after just a few sentences, she felt overwhelmingly sleepy.
"What are you doing now?" Nathan Moore’s voice came again from the earpiece, and Titus Zane turned her body, facing the direction of the phone, her hands cushioning her face, lazily saying, "Sleepy, want to sleep."
There was silence for a few seconds on the other end, and she heard Nathan Moore say, "How about you turn on the video, I’ll watch you sleep."
"No need," Titus Zane, laying on her hands, rubbed her face to find a comfortable position.
A sigh came through the earpiece, and Nathan Moore said, "Say my name."
"Nathan Moore..." Her voice was groggy, not very loud; Nathan unconsciously visualized an image of a woman falling asleep.
On a huge bed, a woman lay like a sleeping mermaid, with skin as smooth as cream, enticingly voluptuous, the touch buried in his palm’s memory still vivid.
The unhealthy memory surfaced again in his brain, his dark eyes becoming misty, his voice hoarse, "Say it again."
Half asleep, Titus Zane didn’t remember how many times she muttered Nathan Moore’s name, like a sleep talk, until she heard a gentle, whisper-like voice in her ear, "Good night..."
Only then did she completely fall asleep.
Two days later, Titus Zane finally received that report.
The DNA report showed that her chromosomal similarity to her mother Ariana Evans was almost zero.
Although she had been mentally prepared, seeing the result, Titus Zane still found it somewhat unacceptable.
The feeling inside her was indescribable, lost, confused, or perhaps uneasy...
Wanting to find someone to confide in seemed a luxury.
After returning to T city, Jon left the next day, flying somewhere unknown; although Jon was mostly unreliable, if he were here, at least she would have someone to confide in.
