Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride Chapter 660

Instinctively, Mia Foster’s gaze turned to Felix Shaw. Although the man was a bit of a playboy, fortunately, he wasn’t as domineering as the poker-faced guy opposite him. Felix Shaw was concentrating on playing cards, his peach blossom eyes actually looked quite serious when not smiling.

Mia Foster unconsciously curved the corners of her lips, deciding after looking back and forth, that Felix Shaw was still the most pleasing to her eye. Unpretentious and not the type to feign aloofness, his smile had a touch of mischief, the elegant ruffian was just the type she liked.

Although it was the first meeting with several men, Mia Foster had already more or less observed their characters.

The big brother Nicholas Croft sitting beside her was obviously a schemer with a veneer of a gentleman, while the poker-faced guy opposite was a classic narcissist combined with a violence enthusiast. As for Evander Lancaster, Mia Foster admitted, he was one of the few men with upright principles in today’s society. The problem was he was too direct; such men didn’t understand subtlety. The seemingly frivolous jokes he was making with her contained much information – each sentence reminded her of Felix Shaw’s flirtatiousness and warned her to keep watch.

Looking at Felix Shaw, Mia Foster was confident she could win over this man!

By the time the card game ended, it was already past midnight. The other three had gone their separate ways, and Felix Shaw glanced at his watch, stretched his arms with a yawn, moving his stiff neck while saying, "It’s quite late. Let’s book a room downstairs. Your aunt and uncle won’t nag, will they?"

Felix Shaw actually didn’t mean anything else, just thought it was too late and he felt tired and wanted to rest. He didn’t find it gentlemanly to let Mia Foster go back alone and worried she might complain to his parents, so he suggested she should stay in the guest room under the club with him.

But Mia Foster overthought a bit. She had only known him for two days, and staying together in a hotel seemed to be moving too fast. Yet, she did not want to miss the opportunity to spend time alone with Felix Shaw. She smiled and said, "I told my family’s housekeeper when I came out, so mom and dad know I’m with you."

"Alright, let’s go." Felix Shaw naturally draped his arm over Mia Foster’s shoulder as they left the room together.

The guest rooms downstairs were on long-term bookings for each of the four men, but only Felix Shaw stayed there more frequently. The other three would go to their own homes unless it was too late.

Following Felix Shaw into the guest room, Mia Foster looked around. Felix Shaw, already familiar with the place, walked into the bathroom and soon returned.

"I’ve drawn a bath for you. Go soak in it. I’m too sleepy; I’m going to bed first," he said while taking off his suit jacket, and Mia Foster responded with a "Okay" and headed towards the bathroom.

The high-end private club had luxurious guest rooms, complete with facilities that were no less than those of a five-star hotel.

However, the bathroom door had just an ordinary lock. After entering, Mia Foster tried to lock the door but was unsuccessful.

Thinking that Felix Shaw had already gone to bed, she pulled the shower curtain closed, placed her clothes on the rack, and lay down in the bathtub.

A man and a woman alone together in a room, and in a hotel that spurred all sorts of fanciful thoughts, Mia Foster lay in the bathtub with her eyes slightly closed, wrestling with inner conflict.

While her thinking was not traditional, if Felix Shaw were to make a move, it seemed...too fast. Yet, if she refused, it somehow didn’t seem reasonable either—after all, they were in a normal dating relationship, and it appeared quite sensible for a dating couple to take things further...

Mia Foster was troubled and struggling with herself. She lay in the bathtub for a full half-hour without reaching a decision. Just as she was feeling frustrated, she heard a click—the sound of someone opening the bathroom door. Hearing footsteps, Mia Foster suddenly tensed, her hands gripping tightly on the edge of the bathtub.
