After hanging up the phone, Mia Foster was already standing beside him, asking with concern, "Felix, what happened?"
He put down the phone and sighed, "Mom has run away from home."
Mia Foster pursed her lips noncommittally and muttered to herself, "She should have dumped that scumbag long ago!"
"What did you say?" Felix frowned, but Mia Foster smiled brilliantly, "I said, your mom should have done this earlier. Even though she doesn’t have a career, she’s lucky to have such a capable daughter-in-law like me. So, even if she leaves that home, she wouldn’t have to worry about going hungry!"
Mia Foster was rarely this playful. Felix knew she was trying to cheer him up. He reached out and pinched Mia Foster’s cheek with a touch of helplessness, "Let’s not be too self-praising for now. The urgent thing is to find Mom first!"
"Pfft!" Mia Foster scoffed disdainfully, "As if a grown woman like your mom could just disappear. Give me her number, and I’ll call her later."
"Okay," The way Mia Foster kept calling her "Mom" warmly touched Felix’s heart. Despite such an embarrassing family incident, she was defending them at every turn. "Mind your manners in front of the kids." Oliver Shaw frowned and reminded her, and Vanessa Armstrong reluctantly acknowledged with an "Oh," as if she just remembered their daughter’s existence.

The honeymoon tickets that were scheduled to be booked were canceled due to Melody Zachary’s sudden departure from home.
Felix Shaw called his mother, and Melody Zachary said there was no need to worry, she just wanted to go out alone to clear her mind...
Later, Mia Foster made a call to her mother-in-law, and after some persuasion, she finally revealed the hotel where she was staying.
The couple drove to pick up Melody Zachary and brought her back to their own home, a not-so-large apartment with two bedrooms, one of which was just right for the mother-in-law to stay in.
After arranging her mother-in-law’s clothes and chatting on the sofa, Mia Foster casually inquired about her future plans. Hearing that her mother-in-law agreed to divorce, Mia immediately declared her full support and even offered to help find a lawyer, to secure the greatest possible benefit for her.
To help Melody Zachary relax, Mia Foster took her to the supermarket to buy groceries, with the two women ahead selecting ingredients and Felix Shaw pushing the cart behind. Watching the two women pause now and then to discuss some produce made the corners of his lips lift unconsciously.
Felix had always been aware of Mia’s capabilities at work, but he never imagined that such a strong-willed woman could be so easy to get along with.
Seeing the two women put down the discussed ingredients and continue on, Felix followed. It was his first time feeling so happy while shopping for groceries in such a noisy supermarket.
