Mr. Hawthorne, Your Wife Wants a Divorce Again Chapter 35

Mrs. Lynch stopped the vacuum cleaner in her hand, and after thinking for a moment, said, "I’ve always been in charge of the kitchen. Aside from the occasional minor issue of the servants sneaking snacks, there’s nothing unusual."

"I see." Ann Vaughn nodded thoughtfully, then said to Mrs. Lynch, "Mrs. Lynch, please don’t tell them I was here. I have to go now."

"Young Madam..." Mrs. Lynch wanted to keep her, but saw Ann Vaughn had already walked out the door.

Only after leaving the Hawthorne Family house far behind did Ann Vaughn stop, a hint of doubt in her eyes.

Mrs. Lynch seemed completely guilt-free, so it probably had nothing to do with her.

So who else would not want her to bear Cyrus Hawthorne’s child, and could so easily mix birth control medication into her food without being noticed?

A face slowly emerged in Ann Vaughn’s mind. She pressed her red lips together, her thoughts somewhat complex.

Even if she had a suspect, she lacked evidence and would not be foolish enough to divulge anything about the pregnancy. Therefore, for now, she would have to swallow her grievances.

Adjusting her mindset, Ann Vaughn hailed a car to the hospital to visit Old Master Hawthorne.

Old Master Hawthorne had already been moved into a VIP ward. When Ann Vaughn arrived, Laura Quinn and Cynthia Vaughn were still there, but there was no sign of Cyrus.

"Oh, you’re here, sister. I thought you were so busy discussing medical techniques with the doctors that you’d forgotten about Grandpa." Cynthia Vaughn, while peeling an apple, spoke with a soft tone full of veiled sarcasm upon seeing Ann Vaughn enter.

Ann Vaughn was too weary to argue with her, looking at the still-comatose Old Master Hawthorne on the bed, she slightly frowned, "Has Grandpa woken up at all?"

"You don’t need to put on an act here. When it’s something you’re supposed to care about, you don’t show any concern, and where you’re not needed, who are you trying to impress?" Laura Quinn sneered, giving Ann Vaughn a cold glance full of sarcasm.

"I really don’t know why the Hawthorne Family let someone as useless as you become part of it. Cian is so busy with company matters that he barely has time to rest, and what about you? What help can you possibly provide?"

The groundless accusations made Ann Vaughn lower her eyes, not responding, as she placed her fingers on Old Master Hawthorne’s wrist to check his pulse.

"Are you referring to the medical incident, Aunt?" Cynthia Vaughn, seeing Ann Vaughn being scolded, had a glint of malice in her eyes, "Don’t worry, I mentioned it to my father. He’ll certainly do his best to help."

"You’re considerate indeed." Laura Quinn’s expression softened considerably, the more she looked at Cynthia Vaughn, the more pleased she seemed, "What a pity it is that our Cian didn’t marry you."

"Aunt, you must be joking. Compliments like that might make my sister jealous."

The two chimed together in an effort to rile Ann Vaughn.

But Ann Vaughn was truly in no mood to pay them any attention. After checking Old Master Hawthorne’s pulse, she told Laura Quinn, "Mom, I’m leaving now." Thɪs chapter is updatᴇd by N(o)vᴇl(F)ire.nᴇt

With that, Ann Vaughn left the ward, exhaling a long breath.

The results aligned with her pulse check; given Old Master Hawthorne’s age and the impact of anger triggering his heart before the poisoning, it was already a miracle he was saved.

She could only use better medicinal herbs to extract a restorative potion to rejuvenate Grandpa Hawthorne’s health so he might regain consciousness sooner.

As she pondered, Ann Vaughn’s thoughts inadvertently drifted. She wondered if Cyrus Hawthorne had seen the document she left in the study.

She wasn’t familiar with business matters, so what she could do were just these small efforts, only hoping...

To help him in some way.
