She was holding Xu Jiaojiao, who had dozed off and was leaning against her shoulder.
Jin Jing’s heart felt like it was being clawed at by a cat. Where on earth did this girl pop out from?
She could actually make Young Master Lu look at her differently?
Not only did he lose his usual coolness, but he was even willing to send her friend home. Since when did Lu Qing ever have such free time?
When they arrived at the destination, Qin Miaomiao woke Xu Jiaojiao up. After being cooled by the sea breeze, she finally regained some clarity.
But as she got out of the car, she pulled Qin Miaomiao aside and lowered her voice to say:
"Miaomiao, this man...."
"Even though Lu Qing is definitely a scumbag, he is still your husband. You two haven’t divorced yet. If he finds out that you’re seeing someone outside, it might get pretty messy."
Qin Miaomiao was left speechless. What kind of nonsense was this? Did she seriously think she was having an affair?
Seeing her silence, Xu Jiaojiao became even more convinced she was right. She sized up Lu Qing and leaned in to whisper:
"Although this man looks fine, the kind of places he frequents, I doubt he’s the clean, upright type. Miaomiao, I support your divorce. In fact, you should grab half of Lu Qing’s assets and leave, find yourself a young hottie, and soar to the top of life!"
Qin Miaomiao was utterly amused by her words. She pinched Xu Jiaojiao’s flushed, tipsy face, threw an arm over her shoulder, and laughed:
"Alright, stop imagining things. Actually, he is..."
Before she could finish her sentence, a strong force yanked her against a warm chest—firm and domineering.
He gave Xu Jiaojiao a cold glance. He hated anyone touching her, even if it was another woman. With one arm looped possessively around her chest, he used his overbearing stance to declare his sovereignty.
Xu Jiaojiao’s heart skipped a beat. This man—so domineering?
Could he really protect Miaomiao? If things fell apart, would he resolutely stand in front of Qin Miaomiao?
She opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but ultimately swallowed her words. Her gaze followed as Lu Qing pulled Qin Miaomiao into the car. And then, the car drove off... just like that.... off....
"Hey? What the hell! I haven’t gotten in the car yet! Lu Qing, you heartless jerk! How could you leave me behind !"
Jin Jing was on the verge of losing it completely!
At one in the morning, Lu Qing sped off with a beautiful girl by his side, leaving his own bro in the dust. What even was this?
He turned his head, only to see Xu Jiaojiao about to unlock her door and head inside. Without a second thought, he dashed over and blocked her path before she could go in.
A faint smile appeared on his handsome face as he grinned cheekily:
"Jiaojiao, right? Miss, could you...."
Xu Jiaojiao flatly rejected him!
"Hey, that’s just inhumane. I at least saved you and brought you back home. It’s pitch-dark out here. Are you really okay with leaving me out on the street? What if some bad guy tries to harm me? Could you really bear that?"
In the end, however, Xu Jiaojiao still let him into her home. The space was small—a one-bedroom, one-living-room apartment, cluttered with all sorts of random things. Clearly, though, Xu Jiaojiao didn’t care in the slightest about the chaos of her own living space.
Inside, under the bright lights, Jin Jing finally got a good look at Xu Jiaojiao’s face.
He was a little taken aback.
Her features were sharp and defined, with strikingly sculpted contours. Her facial structure carried faint hints of mixed heritage. Her hair was casually cut just past her ears, slightly disheveled. And, most surprisingly, instead of looking traditionally feminine, she was strikingly... handsome.
In fact, her handsomeness rivaled his own!
To think that, in terms of looks, he’d actually lose to a woman....
He felt like coughing up blood in frustration.
"Uh... your name is Xu Jiaojiao, right?"
Xu Jiaojiao pulled a lighter from her pocket, held it between her lips, and glanced sideways at him:
"What? You got a problem?"
