"Feeling better now?"
He asked, his expression indifferent, but the way he was looking at her—was there a hint of... affection?
Qin Miaomiao glared at him. "Lu Qing, what’s wrong with you today? Aren’t you supposed to be flying abroad?"
"My wife went missing, so as her husband, I should find out where she went."
A warmth suddenly welled up in Qin Miaomiao’s heart, but then she recalled that scene she had seen on television, and let out a cold "hmph."
"Meeting a lover, so what? Someone was at the airport hugging one beauty on the left and another on the right—living the dream, weren’t you?"
She didn’t even notice how her tone resembled that of a jealous little wife. Lu Qing looked at her, seemingly amused, even his expression softened slightly.
Qin Miaomiao reacted as though someone had stepped on her tail. Her voice rose sharply:
"I’d be jealous? How’s that possible? Mr. Lu can flirt with whatever starlets he wants—I wouldn’t dare say a thing."
The more she said this, the happier Lu Qing became. Her jealous-pouting expression was immensely adorable, even her glaring eyes carried the delicate charm of a young girl. She was so pleasing to the eye no matter how he looked at her.
"You’re my wife, Qin Miaomiao. Of course, you have every right to interfere."
When Qin Miaomiao heard this, his words seemed to carry another deeper implication. Interfere?
Was he saying she could interfere—as his wife?
Her heart fluttered slightly, but she pushed the odd feeling down and pretended to dismissively say:
"With the number of women you have around you, could I even begin to manage? I don’t want to burden myself with that. Same as always—you can do whatever you want outside, but in keeping with fairness and equality, Lu Qing, you better not meddle in my affairs either."
Lu Qing rejected her outright, his pitch-black eyes filled with an undeniable dominance.
Qin Miaomiao crossed her arms, standing in a defensive posture as she looked at him. He squinted his eyes, then suddenly leaned in close and captured her lips!
"You... you... what are you doing..."
She desperately tried to push him away, but his hand tightly held her head, refusing to let go. Panicking, she opened her mouth and bit his thin lips.
Her face turned bright red, and just as she felt like she was running out of air, Lu Qing finally released her.
"You don’t even know to breathe while kissing? You’re certainly clueless."
He teased as he said that, even reaching out to ruffle her hair. Her flushed face was pressed against his shoulder, unable to escape.
Qin Miaomiao was gasping for air, her slightly parted lips looking exceptionally alluring. Lu Qing rubbed his thumb along her chin—the texture of her white, jade-like skin was exquisitely smooth to the touch. He looked down at her—he’d seen countless beautiful women in his life, but the one who could truly captivate him was only her.
"Mr. Lu, is this how you usually force girls?"
Lu Qing smiled faintly, his tone carrying a hint of mischief:
"What do you think? The only one who can make me take the initiative is you."
Qin Miaomiao’s heart skipped a beat—he really knew how to flirt. But such domineering methods were definitely not to her liking.
"Oh, then should I be overwhelmed with gratitude? Thank you, Mr. Lu, for forcing a kiss on me when I clearly didn’t want it?"
Lu Qing frowned. "You didn’t like it?"
"No. I didn’t like it at all. I hate being forced into things—it’s no different than being violated, is it?"
Lu Qing’s expression darkened. He gripped her chin, forcing her to look him in the eye, his gaze cold and unyielding, brimming with dominance.
"Qin Miaomiao, with me, refusal is not an option."
