Chapter 506 A Bottle Of Good Wine
Just when Veronica was in a trance, her cell phone rang.
She looked at the call and found that it was Tom Parker. She answered the call and Tom asked, "Veronica, are you working overtime today?"
"I'd sleep in the apartment tonight."
"Why didn't you go back? Isn't it good to live with your Dad? If there's anything you still need here, just tell me!"
"No, I just want to come here and have a look."
"That's right! The conditions of an apartment are not as good as those at home. And Dad wants to give you the best!"
Veronica was too lazy to listen so she said, "It's okay. I gotta go."
"One more thing. Didn't you say you want to give Nick Cage a good wine? I've got a bottle of good wine. When will you give it to Nick?"
"Wait till I get back!"
"All right."
Veronica hung up and threw her phone away.
No sooner had she finished the call when she heard a knock on the door again.
'Is it possible that Saxon is back?'
She went to open the door, hesitated when her hand fell on the doorknob, pressed her ear against the door, and asked, "Who is it?"
"Open the door." The low voice that replied belonged to Nick.
Veronica was shocked.
'Why is Nick here? He didn't find out about Saxon coming here, did he? Well, it shouldn't be! Saxon said he avoided the cameras and didn't even enter through the gate. So how did he know?'
Veronica turned around. The two cups on the coffee table made her nervous.
She asked him, "What are you doing here?" As soon as she said this, she immediately went to get the cups and stuffed them into the cupboard next to her.
Now, there was nothing different in the room except for the pair of cups.
The person outside didn't answer her.
When Veronica had finished putting away the cups, she ran to the door, took a steady breath, and opened it.
The long black figure outside was deep and cold. Suddenly, he was in front of her. He had a pair of sharp eyes that could make people cringe and avoid looking directly at them.
Nick came in and glanced into the room. He asked in a low voice, "What took you so long to open the door?"
"Was it that long? I was just surprised by your sudden appearance here. So, what are you doing here?" Veronica remembered that the man was so angry that he wouldn't let her see the six little ones.
Nick walked to the sofa. Suddenly, his sharp eyebrow slightly twisted, he turned to look at Veronica, and with black eyes as sharp as an eagle's, he asked, "Are you alone here?"
With clear eyes as if shouting of innocence, Veronica replied, "Yes! Who else would be here?"
"Why does it smell like perfume?"
Veronica suppressed nervousness and looked at him in surprise as she asked, "Perfume?"
She walked over and sniffed it with her nose as she reached Nick's position. She then countered, "Why didn't I smell it? Ah, it must be your delusion."
Before she could finish speaking, Nick pinched the back of her neck and pressed it strongly on his chest. The cold aura gathered around her, and his sentimental voice was in her ear. He said, "When I find out something, I won't be as talkative as I am now."
Veronica's heart was racing. She never thought that Saxon's faint smell of cologne would be detected by Nick, but she couldn't admit it to him even if she died!
Although Nick won't let her see her children and was so angry with her, it didn't mean that she would let Nick see her with other members of the opposite sex around her.
She never dared to underestimate the man's possessiveness!
Veronica could only hope that Saxon was meticulous and would not be found.
Pretending to be angry, he struggled to push Nick and said, "Then you go check it out! You're inexplicable! Go and check now! Do not wait for anyone to run away! Why are you like that? What perfume? You can figure it out. Maybe it's the smell of the soap I used to wash my hands! "
Nick clasped her hand to the back of his neck and looked her in the eye.
And no matter how hard Veronica tried to resist, she couldn't break free.
So instead, Nick grabbed her waist and rudely slammed it into his sturdy abdomen. He covered her thin lips with his and swallowed up Veronica's slightly open mouth.
