Turning to return to his original spot, he glanced at the senior executive who had been reporting and began gathering his things. “The meeting is temporarily adjourned,” he said. “If there’s anything else, we’ll discuss it tomorrow!”
As he spoke, he had already packed up his belongings, and he turned his head to instruct his assistant, “Get the car ready!”
Once he had left without looking back, the people in the conference room dared to whisper among themselves—
“What happened? Who was on the phone just now?”
“Given that ringtone, it must have been a child.”
