After various tests were done, it was confirmed that he was suffering from gastric bleeding. His face turned pale, and though he wanted to scold Fu Yi, he refrained because it wasn’t appropriate to lose face in public. He could only bear it and arrange for the medical staff to set up an IV drip.
Gastric bleeding could be a major or minor issue.
For some people, it was just a minor problem that could be resolved with IV fluids, anti-inflammatory medications, and hemostats.
But for those with fragile stomachs to begin with, repeated incidence of gastric bleeding could lead to more serious symptoms.
Li Shengxiao’s stomach belonged to the latter!
Cui Jiangjing had set up the IV drip for him and then, with a serious expression, called Fu Yi outside to understand the situation.
Only the nurse, Shen Siyuan, and Gu Ming were left in the sickroom.

Previously, she had been on good terms with him, and it stung a bit to be chastised by him now. Knowing that Gu Ming was Li Shengxiao’s trusted right-hand man, even though she felt his request was a bit face-saving, she relented, “I was just worried about Shengxiao.”
“Doctor Cui just examined Mr. Li, and he has taken antibiotics. He should be fine once the IV fluids are finished. Miss Shen doesn’t need to worry too much,” Gu Ming reassured.
Shen Siyuan looked at the man’s handsome face. Though he was right before her, she had the feeling that he was very, very far away.
She simply couldn’t accept it!
Shen Siyuan pursed her lips, her almond-shaped eyes glittering for a moment, “I understand.”
The IV fluid dripped steadily down the transparent tube. Li Shengxiao’s eyes were still fixed on his phone, as if everything around him didn’t exist. The only thing in his eyes was that black-screened phone.
Rong Yan hadn’t called again.
She probably wouldn’t call again…
He had known there was a chance she wouldn’t call when he didn’t answer the phone, but now that an hour had actually gone by without a single call, the suffocating sensation of his heart being constrained made him uncontrollably feel upset.
He unlocked his phone and opened the message thread he hadn’t read before.
There was just one message—[Isn’t your phone with you? No one’s answering. Call me back when you see this, I’ll be waiting for you.]
Those black and white characters sprang to life in his eyes.
It was as if he could visually perceive the little woman’s demeanor and gestures while saying these words, along with her beautiful eyes that were watching him.
