In Estelle’s office, she had taken out all the recent plans about Rong Yan’s invitations and began going through them one by one, discussing with her assistant and others as she searched.
After going through seven or eight, her frown grew more severe, and the faces of the team members were clouded with gloom.
The assistant was passing over the files, and seeing her own pile dwindling, couldn’t help but ask, “Estelle, haven’t we found a suitable one yet? I don’t have many left here.”
Estelle, continuously flipping through the files, rubbed her forehead and looked up, “How many are left?”
The assistant flipped through the files in her hands and said, “About four or five.”
“Let me see.” Estelle’s expression grew even more solemn, her lips tightened, and she asked the assistant to hand over all the files first. Then she spread them all out and briefly looked them over. Just at a glance, she could tell they were all unsuitable.
Seeing Estelle’s expression darken further after going through the files, the assistant guessed the outcome wasn’t good and tentatively said, “Estelle, isn’t there a single suitable one among these?”
Estelle let out a deep sigh, feeling like she was dealing with a problem larger than life, and sat in her swivel chair, shaking her head with a face as still as water.
When the assistant saw her shake her head, she became anxious, “What do we do now? Are we just going to watch that Rong Weiwei release press statements stepping on Rong Yan? One can imagine that woman, having finally snatched Rong Yan’s endorsement, will definitely spread the word online about how the brand thinks Rong Yan isn’t high-profile enough, and the internet, filled with people clueless about the truth, will start beating the drum again.”
Lately, their team had been sailing with the wind, gaining more advertising and commercial opportunities as Rong Yan’s popularity soared.
For such a press statement to come out and stomp on their hard-earned progress, it would revert the situation back to where other major brands were once again on the fence.
After all, with the chocolatier brand claiming that Rong Yan wasn’t high-profile enough, how could other brands work with her? Doing so would seem like they were endorsing that their own brand lacked prestige, using a celebrity other brands deemed to be of lower status.
“It all comes back to that Rong Weiwei being too disgusting. She doesn’t just snatch opportunities but also persuades the brand’s people to deliberately say such things to Rong Yan. There were so many people around at the time, and it was clear that the brand’s executive meant for others to overhear, to spread the word,” the assistant said angrily, clenching her fists, “How can there be such revolting people in the world! The brand is just as disgusting, taking advantage of our trust, not negotiating a penalty clause in the contract, and then they talk about compensating for the breach. That’s not all; even though they were the ones in the wrong, they still bring up not being high-profile enough to insult people, it’s just too bullying!”
Clenching her fists in indignation, she said confidently, “I’d bet anything that the way the brand’s people spoke was definitely instigated by someone!”
That Rong Weiwei was too vile, having done every dirty deed, and even waiting in the parking lot to block their way and show off, pretending to be ignorant just to be spiteful.
She had seen many people, but never had she encountered such an epitome of two-faced scheming green tea bitch!
What made it worse was that having encountered such a green tea bitch, they couldn’t snuff her out; instead, they had to swallow the humiliation. She felt like she was on the verge of a heart attack.
