Rong Yan spent the entire day immersed in the recording studio. It wasn’t until she and Qi Yue had finalized some minor details that Rong Yan straightened her back and stretched lazily, only then noticing that it had gotten dark outside.
Damn, it’s gotten so late already.
Qi Yue packed up her guitar, carefully placed the score into the guitar’s small case, and, noticing the darkening sky, said to Rong Yan, “Is it this late already? Rong Yan, you go on ahead. I’ll take care of the rest of the cleanup.”
“I’ll help you,” Rong Yan insisted, refusing her kind offer and turning back to help her tidy up the studio’s equipment.
Qi Yue smiled sweetly and didn’t argue, silently bending down and tidying up alongside Rong Yan.
Two people were indeed faster than one, and it didn’t take long for the studio to look just like it did when they had arrived that morning. Rong Yan conscientiously gathered all the garbage from the takeout they ordered halfway through the day, walked over to Qi Yue, who was arranging the chairs neatly, and said, “Let’s go, I’ll treat you to dinner tonight.”
Qi Yue returned the chairs to their original places, turned around when she heard Rong Yan, and showed a look of difficulty, “Tonight? My manager has made an appointment with me to discuss the upcoming schedule. Let’s do it another time, I’ll treat Rong Yan next time.”
The truth was, she didn’t have an appointment with her manager that evening; she had to go somewhere else.
Another reason was that she knew Rong Yan had to go home to spend time with her boyfriend and child every day, and she didn’t want to hold Rong Yan up.
Back then, if it hadn’t been for Rong Yan’s support, she wouldn’t have achieved what she had now.
Even now, as the company was willing to promote her, she felt that Rong Yan had something to do with it to a certain extent. She always thought that it was because of her good relationship with Rong Yan that the company was willing to give her opportunities.
Of course, no matter the reason the company was willing to give her a chance to showcase herself, she would cherish the opportunity and work hard to do her best, so as not to let down her hometown and family!
Rong Yan had no idea that such an honest and introverted person would lie to her, and she responded with regret, “I wanted to take you out to dinner tonight, if you hadn’t made time to help me, I don’t know what I would’ve done.”
Qi Yue blushed and hurriedly waved her hands, her nervous expression looking as if Rong Yan was imposing on her, “Rong, Rong Yan, you shouldn’t say that.”
Feeling that her reaction wasn’t good, she took a deep breath to calm herself and looked at Rong Yan seriously, “I’m really happy to be able to help you. I’ll go over the score again after I get back to see if I can come up with any better ideas. If I think of something good, I’ll send it to you.”
“I offered to help voluntarily, so please, Rong Yan, don’t thank me or feel indebted to me. Otherwise, I… I won’t know what to do.”
She simply adored Rong Yan, really, really adored her.
Rong Yan was like a ray of light suddenly streaking across her gray life, illuminating her entire existence and giving her the chance to shine too.
So, to her, nothing was more important than Rong Yan!
She didn’t want someone she admired and liked to thank her; gratitude made her uncomfortable. She preferred it , helping each other with a tacit understanding.
“Anyway, just tell me if there’s anything I can help with, Rong Yan, and I’ll definitely try to help. Just don’t be polite with me, I like things the way they are now!”
