Rong Yan, “Don’t think I don’t know you’re planning to use this money to pull some strings for Rong Weiwei. You want me to adjust my scheduling, to toil and make money, and then use what I’ve earned to bail out Rong Weiwei. Am I a fool in your eyes? Or do you think you can incessantly demand from me and take whatever you ask for as your due? If I refuse, am I an ingrate, and am I then being ungrateful to you?”
Jiang Meiqi was cornered by his words but still refused to give up, gritting her teeth and forcing out, “Wei was sent to the detention center because of you! It’s only right that you take responsibility to get her out!”
Rong Yan, “She was sent there by her own actions, no one harmed her! If she hadn’t done those things, who could have sent her to detention?”
After all, Weiwei was not just anyone; she was a popular actress, a winner of the Golden Eagle Award for Best Actress. Any slight commotion could attract media attention.
If not for Weiwei’s own repeated follies, who could harm her?
Jiang Meiqi refused to accept this, “You framed Wei. She told me she hadn’t done it, she hadn’t drugged the champagne. You drank champagne that someone else tampered with and insisted on pinning it on Wei. You’re just using this opportunity to frame and set her up. It’s possible that you even arranged for the drugged champagne yourself; everyone’s just been deceived by you!”
Rong Yan didn’t want to continue talking with someone who refused to see the world for what it was; “Mrs. Rong can think whatever she wants; if that’s how you choose to think, there’s nothing I can do about it.”
With that, he turned to leave.
