“Who are you guys?!” Beichuan looked at the several suited men who suddenly rushed in, feeling baffled.
He had seen police search rooms before, but he had never seen people casually burst in to do a search.
“Mr. Beichuan, pardon the intrusion. Our boss has lost something and suspects it has been stolen.” Manager Chen’s voice arrived before he did.
Manager Chen entered, flashing a toothy grin at Beichuan.
“Are you looking for your lost goods in my room? Manager Chen, are you out of your mind?!” Beichuan couldn’t help but laugh in disbelief.
Although he didn’t know who was the real boss of The Red House, he found this to be child’s play. They were treating him as though he was a policeman.
Having seen this grinning fox Manager Chen before, he could guess that the proprietor of The Red House was surely not a virtuous person.
“It was our boss’s idea, please forgive the inconvenience, Mr. Beichuan. The lost item is very important, and we must investigate. Once the item is found, I will personally come and apologize to you.”
Su Hongxing was also a little bewildered by this sudden scene.
Liu Qingyin whispered to her: “Sis, that Chen guy has been sneaking glances at you. He’s definitely after you.”
Su Hongxing frowned slightly and glanced at Liu Qingyin.
Seeing that Su Hongxing didn’t trust her, Liu Qingyin pouted: “Sis, I’m telling you, Manager Chen definitely harbors ill intentions towards you. Trust me, I’m not wrong.”
Next, the suited men hauled Beichuan away before also dragging off Liu Qingyin, just like armed bandits.
Finally, only Su Hongxing and Manager Chen were left in a standoff.
Manager Chen’s face broke into a smile: “Miss, I suspect that the stolen item is on your person. Please come with me.”
“What are you trying to do?!” Su Hongxing, no matter how slow, began to realize what Liu Qingyin had said was true.
Manager Chen was indeed targeting her.
“Please accompany me, Miss Su.” Manager Chen was still smiling, but his tone was beyond dispute.
Su Hongxing suddenly had a thought: “Is it Ye Qilan?!”
Manager Chen didn’t reply, but it didn’t take long for him to lead Su Hongxing to the door of Ye Qilan’s office.
“Miss Su, please.” Manager Chen said as he knocked on the door.
Unwilling to enter, Su Hongxing was forcibly pushed in by Manager Chen.
She tried to pull open the door to leave but could not move it.
Ye Qilan was feigning sleep. Upon hearing the noise at the door, he lazily opened his eyes.
Once he saw the familiar figure of a woman, his eyes stilled.
Su Hongxing’s silhouette stiffened, she looked back hesitantly, meeting Ye Qilan’s deep, cold eyes, as piercing as an ice-cold blade.
“What did you call me here for?!” Su Hongxing leaned against the door, feeling that the Ye Qilan before her eyes was not as harmless as he used to be.
“I called you?” Ye Qilan paused.
He suddenly remembered Manager Chen mentioning half an hour ago about preparing a surprise for him.
Was this surprise that Manager Chen mentioned the woman before his eyes?
“Since you’re here, stay for a while before you leave.” Ye Qilan got up and walked into the adjacent room.
Su Hongxing stood by the door, scrutinizing the spacious area. It was too grand to be an office, yet it wasn’t a residential room either.
When Ye Qilan returned, he was holding two glasses of red wine, presenting one to her.
Su Hongxing shook her head: “I don’t drink.”
Who knew if there was something slipped in the wine?
“Do you want me to feed you?” Ye Qilan lightly hooked his thin lips, his eyes were mischief and enchanting.
A drop of wine stained his lips. It was so red that it looked demonic, unexpectedly giving him an alluringly wicked air.
